    VORTEX PUMPS - RW SERIES

    Our vortex submersible pumps

have over 50 years of practical

    experience in pumping liquids

    loaded with solid matter.

    The excellent non-clogging

    performance which is inherent

    to the vortex principle makes

these pumps the first choice for

    even the most severe working

    conditions.

Large and heavy solids are notleft behind in the sump, but together with

fibrous materials as well as heavy sludge are

pumped with ease. These pumps are

    completely reliable by design.

The impeller is set far back in

the housing and does not require

    any adjustments. This eliminates

the risk of jamming, and makes

    low performance resulting from

    incorrect impeller adjustments

    and/or wear an impossibility.

    Continuous high performance

    and trouble-free operation with

    a minimum of maintenance are

thus guaranteed.Hydraulic components as well as complete

pumps are available in special materials.

Application flexibility is further enhanced by

the availability of a broad variety of

    installation options.

    FEATURES

Non-cloggingThe recessed vortex impeller leaves a wide unobstructed passage through the volute in which a strong

vortex is created which carries most of the solids. Blockages are hardly possible, even when pumping

fibrous materials, as these are pushed away from the radial blade edges and cannot hook onto the

    impeller.

Larger solids - Heavy sludgesThe strong vortex is also noticeable outside of the pump. Heavy and large solids are not left behind in

the sump, but are taken up into the vortex and pumped out, even at low flow conditions.

This means that costs for manual cleaning of the sump are greatly reduced. Heavy sludges are agitatedand thus easily pumpable.

Low wear - Constant performanceSince most solids pass in front of the impeller without even touching it, the wear is naturally very low.

Wear also has only a limited effect on performance especially since no seam openings exist.

Constant high performance over a long period of time is therefore guaranteed. Since wear is evenly

spread over the impeller, vibration levels also remain low.

    Low maintenance - No adjustments

Vortex pumps have no narrow openings. Jamming of the impeller in the housing and sudden drops inperformance due to wear or incorrect adjustment are therefore eliminated. Re-adjustment to maintain

efficiency and performance at design-level are not required. This insures reliable and trouble-free

operation with minimum maintenance and cost.

Wide range of sizesOur submersible vortex pumps are available in a wide range of solids sizes, therefore the selection is

not determined according to pump type and size, but only by the specific requirements of your

application, even for the smallest pumps.

    INSTALLATION OPTIONS

The guide rail quick-release coupling V or the header coupling H which is installed above the water

level are used for permanent submerged installation.

F: for semi-permanent free standing installation, including stand and discharge adapter.

T: for transportable use. Features a non-overloading impeller.

A: with cooling system designed for permanent dry installation. Features a flood proof motor.

For conventional dry installation B, refer to the BW series brochure.

    DESIGN FEATURES

    Motor: Class F (155C)

    Bearings: Heavy duty, greased

    for life.

    Shaft: Stainless steel

    Shaft sealing: 2 independent

    mechanical seals running in

    biologically degradable oil. At

    the pump side silicon carbide

runs on ceramic, at the motor

    side carbon ceramic.

    Oil housing: With flexible

    rubber bellows.

    Back vanes: Prevent solids

    from entering the seal and

reduce pressure on the seals, for

    longer seal life.

    Impeller: non-clogging with

    wide passage.

No adjustments required: No jamming, consistent high

    performance over a long period.

    Bolts and nuts: Stainless steel.

    Parts: Widely interchangeable, reducing stock

requirements. Enables pump construction tailored tocustomer needs.

    NUMEROUS OPTIONS

    Certified to European Standards

    EN 50014/18/19 Class Eex de

    IIB T3 or T4.

    Cooling jacket: For continuous

    operation with submerged motor

    or for dry installation. With

    internal water circulation or for

    external water connection.

Available with seal flushing.Seal leak monitor:

Detects water entry in both motor

    and oil housing.

    Thermostat: Standard for all

    explosion-proof designs and for

    pumps with cooling system.

    Optional for all other pump

    types.

    Special materials: Many

    components or complete pumps

    are available in non-standard
