from your Pastor T here will be no growth in a Christian life unless there will be a deep love for and faith in God’s Word. A deeper love would mean a greater ser- vice for Him. Our Christianity rests solely on God and upon the Bible, and not merely on tradition. Our faith and practices as Baptists do not come from any man or central office, but from our final authority which is the Bible. As we study more about it in our Sunday School this month, let us be encouraged to under- stand how God has preserved His Word so we can know more about Him. This past week, it was a blessing to be preach for the Winter Camp of our outreaches here in Taiwan. Together with my wife, Pastor Gil, Bro. Knouf and his wife, we were able to minister to our Filipino brethren, hold Bible studies and baptize converts. It is a delight to see that the Gospel is open anywhere and that God continually saves souls and changes lives. Let us continue praying that more mission works can be started so that we can reach more souls. Have a Spirit-filled Sunday! VOLUME 23 > ISSUE 07 > FEBRUARY 17

Loving the Word of GodI must continue loving and

meditating God's Word.Loving the Doctrine of Preservation

Psalm 12:6-7 / 2 Timothy 3:14-17

I. We express the value of the doctrine of preservation of God’s Word by reading it.A. When we read His Word, we learn great truths that can change us.B. While we read God’s word, we expose ourselves to the Light of the world.

II. We expose the value of the doctrine of preservation of God’s Word by loving it.A. We show our respect to God by fulfilling His commandment. B. We show our regard to God by obeying His statutes.C. We show our reverence to God’s Word by carrying it wherever we are.D. We show our readiness to expose its truth by sharing it with others. . III. We exhibit the value of the doctrine of preservation of God’s Word by living it.A. Our talk must coincide with our walk; by the grace of God, we must “Walk what we talk.”B. Our lives must be influenced by the Word of God.C. Our will and ways must be governed by the Word of God. D. Our daily lives must be saturated by the Word of God.

IV. We establish the value of the doctrine of preservation of God’s Word by dying for it.A. Let us die to the system of the world and live for the Lord.B. Let us die to our selfish ambition and live for God’s vision upon our lives.C. Let us die to our self-centeredness and start living for others by winning them to our Saviour.D. Let us die to our shyness and pride and begin to live for our God and Almighty Father.

BY THE PRESERVED WORD OF GODBeata B. Agustin

Our salvation is verily assured by God’s grace As taught by His preserved Word, devoid of error-trace

Let us be thankful in reading it with earnest praise While learning from His wisdom of enlightenment’s rays.

Our sanctification is only perfected thru God’s cleansing

As affirmed by His preserved Word, secured from sins’ oppressingLet us be diligent in meditating it with sincere repentance from transgressing

While seeking His forgiveness of compassion’s blessing.

Our satisfaction is bountifully enriched with God’s sufficiencyAs expressed by His preserved Word, filled with blessings’ constancy

Let us be eager in delighting in it with prayerful expectancyWhile abiding in His goodness of contentment’s mercy.

Our service is acceptably done along God’s mightAs declared by His preserved Word, free from deceit’s blight

Let us be empowered in hearing it with utmost desire to practice what’s right While involving in His work of heavenly kingdom-advancement’s height.

Our sanctuary-worship is genuinely experienced in God’s holinessAs asserted by His preserved Word, authenticated by divine righteousness

Let us be glad in keeping it with heartfelt gratefulnessWhile testifying about His greatness of triumphant gloriousness.

Our steadfastness is formidably anchored upon God’s foundationAs told by His preserved Word, built on precepts for character-formation

Let us be convinced in applying it with obedient submissionWhile honoring His name of majestic proclamation.

Our success is ultimately attained around God’s achievement As reminded by His preserved Word, settled upon sovereign truth’s accomplishment

Let us be humbled in living by it with revived faith and spiritual discernment While following His instructions of faithful stewardship-fulfillment.

About the Bible"This Book is the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners,

and the happiness of believers. Its doctrines are holy, its precepts are binding; its histories are true, and its decisions are immutable.

Read it to be wise, believe it to be safe, practice it to be holy. It contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you.

It is the traveler’s map, the pilgrim’s staff, the pilot’s compass, the soldier’s sword, and the Christian’s character.

Christ is its grand subject, our good its design, and the glory of God its end. It should fill the memory, rule the heart, and guide the feet.

Read it slowly, frequently, prayerfully. It is a mine of wealth, a paradise of glory, and a river of pleasure."

The Bible Is the Most Important Book When David Livingstone began his trek across Africa in 1852, he carried 73 books which together weighed 180 pounds. After he had gone 300 miles he had to discard away some of the books because it was not feasible to carry so much through the jungle. He continued discarding books away as he went further into the jungle. Eventually his library had shrunk to one book—the Bible— this he did not throw away. The Bible is truly the most important book in the world, yet many read it as if it were the least important.

The Priority of DevotionsGeorge Müller read the Bible through over 100 times. He also wrote over 30,000 letters per year for 40 years. He had nine assistants working in a dozen languages. He pastored 1,200 believers, had the oversight of five large orphanages and a huge publishing house, printed and distributed millions of books, tracts, and Bibles. He said, “I never think of going to my work without first having a good season of time with God and my Bible.”
