    NRLI Alumni Association BOD

    Conference Call meeting March 4, 2008, 3PM 4PM

    Action items in red

    I. New ideas needed

    Teresa Maybe we can add input from BOD members about our current committees,conferences & issues to update the BOD and identify happenings that tie into NRLI and wemay want to engage in.

    NRLI business cards - can we make business card for NRLI with program website &contact info? Can be more subtle & appropriate to pass out at events for recruitment.- What text should be on card? Wendy-Lin made something like this for the project team

    and can make nameless version to post to website for us to individually print.

    Hal - Website interactivity/ database capability allow folks to go online and enter nameas an interested individual for future program and nominate possible natural resource issuesfor classes. Wendy-Lin is working with someone on NRLI website update she will seeabout developing this capacity.

    Hal how about blogging with a monthly update to allow alumni to post. Deb had alreadyopened this offer to BOD. This is an encouragement for all to post conferences and issues.

    II. 2008 ACT Conservation Steward Award

    Announcement for email to alumni is crafted. We are encouraged to attend but keepit a secret from Bruce!

    III. Alumni participation at Class VIII sessions - UPDATE

    UPDATE from Tallahassee session

    Deb gave an update very diverse, more private sector folks (current drive for participantsaway from agencies is working).Billy Williams put a session together with DEP Chief of Staff (name?) spoke about climateinitiatives, good alumni participation (8-9 people). Billy spoke to folks about becominginvolved in community gov & enviro issues.

    Review list and coordinate w/Wendy-Lin on attendance at Class VIII sessions

    Graduation Alumni awards

    Last year the award was recognizing a program created during NRLI Class IISunny will post out to us all the notes and development behind this award. We can use thisto establish more detailed criteria for the award. Begin thinking about this award &potential nominees.

    Class Representatives (review new & current reps) these people are our socialorganizers, primary outreach when we need to contact each of the alumniClass 1 Bob Adair is out - Sunny will be new class rep

    V. Ongoing business:

    eNewsletter Need someone to draft email to send to contact class reps to solicitfor newsletter team membersNow with class reps established (above) we should send them a request for eNewsletter

    participation.Teresa will draft this email request to get folks engaged who really want to work on theeNewsletter. First she will post it to each of us for edits/revisions. Then we will have classreps send out to list for volunteers.

    NRLI Shirts update

    Bob has contacted a t-shirt shop for estimate and embroidered patches. Class VIII hadshirts made (Kevin Hennessey current class contact). Also, Wendy-Lin is seeking lapelpins so this

    Treasurer & Membership update: Wes has received one more membership since pastmeeting and a number of emails saying did I pay yet?$1,900 = current bank balance.
