2009 Great Human RaceGene Hobbs

I am walking for the Rubicon Foundation, Inc. in the 2009 Great Human Race 5k run and community walk this weekend. Many of you know about my commitment to improving access to the body of diving and hyperbaric medicine literature. I am walking to help raise funds to support the Rubicon Foundation in meeting this goal.

Rubicon has taken great strides to improve research access through projects like the Rubicon Research Repository, The Rubicon Review, and our various finding aides and suggested reading lists. Robert Evans, BS, RRT, DO was Chief Resident at Duke in 1982 and Associate in Anesthesiology 1982 – 1983 with clinical responsibility at the Durham Veterans Administration Hospital.

Evans’ involvement with the early Duke DAME Record Keeping System has influenced his Anesthesiology career. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer, Docusys, Inc. with offices in Atlanta, Georgia and Mobile, Alabama.

Medical Students, CRNAs, Residents, Fellows, and Junior Faculty are invited to submit abstracts for presentation.

Abstracts may represent original clinical, laboratory scientific or case reports. Submission to other scientific organizations (e.g. ASA, Gulf Atlantic Residents’ Conference) is allowed. In fact, we encourage those of you who have ASA abstracts in preparation to submit them for the Academic Evening. All

submissions will be accepted for poster presentation.

Abstracts must be no longer than one full page (8.5” x 11”) including diagrams and tables.

Entries are due Wednesday, April 15th at 5 pm. Please submit electronically in MS Word to June Santa. Please submit one

unblinded copy and one blinded copy of each abstract, as well as the completed abstract cover sheet.*
