    SAQC Celebrated its Annual Open Forum for this year differently than its previous two years. This

    time around we were able to bring in two outstanding speakers to celebrate our Annual Forum. The

    topic chosen by the speakers were very much relevant with our objectives. Prof. Mohammed Zairi

    ganizations. We

    appreciate your

    support.

    Prof. Mohammed Zairi delivering his presentation on Human Develop-

    ment in the Arab World summarizing a UN Report during the Forum

    Esam Gari presenting his views on Innovative Thinking. The presentation

    was received with huge applauds from audience in the Annual Forum

    The Health Care Interest Group held its 2nd Meeting in Saudi

    German Hospital on Tuesday 13th May, 2003. The Meeting

    was attended by leading professionals from Health Care In-

    dustry - Dr. M.H. Khoshim, ED, KAMC-NGHA, Dr. Ad-

    nanMazrou, Medical Director, KAUH, Dr. Jameel Atyah,

    Director Quality Improvement Program, MSD, MODA,

    Dr. Rashed Kawan , Director Patient Services, KFSH-RC,

    Dr. Osamah Bahanan, AGM Healthcare, Saudia Medical,

    Dr.M.S. Ghamdi, Chairman, SSFCM, Jeddah, Prof. Samir

    Mousa, Director, Academic Affairs, SGH Group, Dr.

    Ayed T. Al-Amri, Director, SAQC (WR)

    Dr. Abdulsalam Shehri, Chairman, HIG, SAQC (WR), and

    Coordinator of Health Care Interest Group Mr. Baraa T.

    Alhaj-Hussein. The Steering Committee discussed differentaspects of Health care industry and a brainstorming session was

    conducted to come up with the scope of work for the group.

    The committee has agreed upon to meet during June, 2003 to

    review the vision, mission, values and scope of work. Further-

    more, the group will work along with other health care socie-

    ties to further its mission and objectives. WE WISH THE

    GROUP ALL THE BEST OF LUCK.

    SAQC in partnership with Saudi Geo-

    logical Survey (SGS) will be organizing

    a two day Symposium on Quaity Ap-

    plication in the Governmental Sector.

    The Symposium is first of its kind being

    organized in Saudi Arabia. The event is

    organized under the patronage ofH.R.H.

    Prince Abdulmajid Bin Abdulaziz Al

    Saud, Governer of Makkah Al Mukar-

    ramah Region. Eight different organiza-

    tions will share their experiences in qual-

    SAQC had its Technical Meet-

    ing for the month of May on

    Tuesday 13th May, 2003. Proc-

    ter & Gamble shared its experi-

    ence of Implementing Quality

    Assurance in their organization

    in Jeddah with SAQC Members.

    The speaker for the event was

    Jamal Mohammed Eghrib, Qual-

    ity Assurance Leader of 2 plants

    of P&G (MPC & MIC). The

    meeting was well received by 55

    attendees. Mr. Jamal Eghrib pre-

    sented the 19 points program of

    how the Quality Assurance is

    managed in Procter & Gamble.

    Following the presentation the

    Q&A session was organized. Thepresentation was delivered in Ara-

    bic Language. This was the 2nd

    presentation during 2002-2003

    which was delivered in Arabic

    language as requested by

    SAQC Members. The meeting

    was rated excellent by 70% of

    the attendees and 20% rated it

    to be good. SAQC takes this

    opportunity to thank P&G

    Management for sharing

    knowledge with our members.SAQC also appreciate Mr. Ja-

    mal Eghrib for his contribution

    to the society.

    Missouri, USA. Over 100 educational sessions were organized

    ranging from Customer Satisfaction, Environmental Quality,

    Health Care, Risk Management,ISO 9001:2000, Lean Princi-

    ples, Six Sigma, Software Quality The Key Note Speakers

    were: Horst Schulze, Former President & CEO of Ritz Carl-

    ton, Dr. J. Gerald Suarez, Expert organizational designer &

    thinker, Clyde Fessler, Former VP of Business Development

    for Harley-Davidson Motor Co. The event was a great success.

    SAQC will be conducting its 3rd Plant Tour for the year20022003 at Abdul Latif Jamils Guest Relationship Man-

    agement Division on 26th June, 2003. The attendees will be

    given a presentation titled Quality at ALJTheory

    and Pratice, followed by highlights of Guest Relationship

    Management activities which leads to guest delight. The for-

    mal invitation thru email to members will be done in the 3rd

    week of June, 2003 by SAQC. Meanwhile, please do not hesi-

    SAUDI ARABIAN QUALITY COUNCIL in the Western

    more than 100 organizations, professionals ranging from

    Quality Control Inspectors / Engineers to Quality Directors,

    Managers, Presidents and Managing Directors. From just 33

    members in 1998 SAQC has grown by leaps and bounds with

    currently 326 members on its database, both Corporate and

    Individual. SAQC (WR) has to-this-day 8 Corporate Mem-

    bers, out of which 7 are Golden and one Silver. We at SAQCare determined to achieve the 500 membership enrollments
