How It Works

The OPS™ Smart Sensor is aimed at the ceiling and captures digital images ofoverhead position markers (OPMs). The BodyGuard Proximity Alert system provides a cost effective solution forindustrial collision avoidance solution for applications that involve movingMachinery, Heavy Vehicles and Forklifts, Utility Vehicles and/or personnel.

How the BodyGuard System Works

All Sensor Units and Personal Tag Units continuously transmit specially codeddigital signals. Sensor Units are also continuously monitoring transmissionsfrom other Sensor Units and Personal Tag Units.

Whenever a Personal Tag Unit or Sensor Unit enters the user-defined protectedzone of a particular Sensor Unit, that Sensor Unit will activate the Alarm Relaycontacts. When the detected object’s moves outside the protection zone, thealarm relay contacts will open.

The Alarm Relay contacts are typically used to activate an audible siren orflashing strobe light as an indication that the protection zone has beenpenetrated by another object.

Beacon Unit: Battery powered unit that transmits only. Thisis a moveable device (Cone) that is useful for protecting yourtemporary hazardous zones and keep-out areas.

Control Unit: This unit enables multiple sensors to befitted on a large vehicle and provides logging of allproximity notifications from the Sensor Units on thevehicle. This unit can be configured using a PDA,Tablet or Laptop Computer.

The Alarm Relay operation has been designed to be Fail-Safe and satisfiesL.I.S requirements for mining and other industrial applications. If for anyreason the Sensor Unit (or a Control Unit) fails to operate correctly, theAlarm Relay contacts will close.
