The Krebs gMAX inlet has improved uponthe Krebs involute feed inlet that had beenthe state-of-the-art in hydrocyclones forover 40 years. The outer wall involute designentrance pre-classies the feed solids priorto entering the main body of the cyclone.The upper part of the gMAX also includesan improved vortex nder and top coverplate liner design. These improvements tothe inlet head result in less misplacementof coarse material to the overow anddramatically increased wear life. This longer
wear life for the gMAX
inlet, combinedwith premium ceramics in the lower parts ofthe cyclone, will greatly increase completecyclone repair frequency.
gMAX Inlet
The partition between theslurry entering the cyclone andthe separation chamber of thehydrocyclone has been extended.
Extra space for incoming slurry withoor to minimize turbulence. Classies the coarse solids before
introducing them into the main bodyof the hydrocyclone.
Through the use of CFD analysis, Krebs has
designed the gMAX cyclone with sharperupper cones followed by longer angledlower cones. This combination maximizestangential velocity in the upper part of thecyclone. It then provides a long residencetime in the critical separation zones in thelower part of the cyclone. This results in asubstantially ner separation with fewernes in the underow.
