The X omnium Series is the new video distribution over IP solution. Based on a dedicated H.264 encode/decode

platform, the X omnium Series enables Blu-ray quality video extension and playback over standard LAN/WAN

connectivity at user dened low bit rates for minimal network bandwidth consumption. Initial X omnium Series

product offerings include an Encoder/Decoder pair the Decoder unit also being capable of acting as a stand-

    alone player device.

    Encoder and Decoder

The Encoder and Decoder units extend 1080p video, audio and RS-232 control signals over a standard TCP/IP

network. Using H.264 video and AAC audio compression standards, the X omnium Encoder captures video, au-

dio and RS-232 signals from a host PC or another media source and seamlessly extends the signals to one

or more X omnium Decoders via CATx cabling. A robust software suite is used to remotely manage, monitor and

    schedule the X omnium network.

Users can leverage the X omnium Series ability to operate on a standard 100/1000 Mb Ethernet network to

create native networks or extend existing ones. X omnium Encoder and Decoder units support one-to-one

unicast and one-to-many multicast streaming, while multiple Decoders may be daisy-chained to create large-

scale video distribution networks. The encoder/decoder pair also provides autonomous network and daisy-chainsupport, but is not limited to these functionalities. When deploying X omnium Encoder and Decoder units, users

have the option of playing high-denition content on a single screen or stitching multiple screens together to drive

scaled, synchronized content without any tearing
