Snow Summit’s 60th Anniversary Party Celebrate six decades of legendary fun at Snow Summit, including a fireworks show on Saturday night! FEBRUARY 6th Annual Snowshoe the Bear Snowshoe event for all skill levels. The 5K and 10K course starts at Big Bear Village and goes onto National Forest trails. Qualifier for Hot Dawgs and Handrails Snowboard competitors vie for a spot in the Hot Dawgs and Handrails main event in September. Analog Go Huck Yourself at Bear Mountain Amateur slopestyle contest. Free giveaways, DJ, prizes, and more. Women’s Edventures A two-day clinic and workshop at Snow Summit designed for women who wish to learn or improve skiing and/or snowboarding skills. MAY Big Bear Horro-Fi Film Festival View a variety of independent short and feature-length movies, from the bone- chillingly suspenseful to the gory and grotesque. Attend seminars and recep- tions during the weekend-long festival. May Trout Classic This long-established fishing event has grown quite a reputation with anglers as the tournament that stocks “trophy- size” rainbow trout! Big Bear Memorial Weekend 5k Fun Run A salute to our US Military with a 5k fun run around the perimeters of the Village. JUNE Big Bear Discovery Center’s Summer Concert Series From June to September, various live performers light up the stage at the Discovery Center’s outdoor amphithe- ater. Enjoy live music all summer long amongst the pines and starry skies. Fishin‘ for $50K Imagine reeling in a fish worth $50,000! The angler who catches the grand-prize -tagged trout will win $50,000. There are cash prizes and trophies for the biggest trout, and a variety of Big Bear lodging and adven- ture packages are awarded, too. CATS presents Oklahoma! Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Tony award-winning classic is brought to you by the Community Arts Theater Society of Big Bear Valley.
