My CGA designation really helped me to appreciate the businessareas that my role as a Chief Information Officer demands of me.You would think that a CIO’s job is mostly IT in nature, but I amfinding more and more that my time is spent dealing with the different business areas of my organization. As a matter of fact, the very first year of my job had very little to do with technologyand everything to do with mergers, acquisitions and workingthrough the accounting in that type of seconds.

The CGA Program has provided me with the knowledge and language needed to present my ideas and solutions to the rest ofthe business. The role of IT is to bring value to the business andin order to do that you have to understand the business and thelanguage of the business. The CGA program has provided mewith a well-rounded body of expertise in these different businessareas.
