Week 7 Journal:This week, we proceeded the activity of ‘ off campus’. The place was a apartment inthe city that had ten-levels. In this tutorial, we knew that how the workers to build inthe construction plant. The manager showed the concrete construction when wevisited and introduced that the apartment’s finishing stage is 75%.

For these pictures, this was the ground level. We could see some cooper and PVC pies.The PVC pipes were used for water system, such as they could deliver the water. Thecopper pies were used for electrical system because copper was a good conductor ofheat and electricity. Also, we saw the one way slab and reinforce concrete blocks.They were all made of concrete.

Then, we went to a room which was in second floor.There was a big french window in the room, so the sunshine could come in. Therewere some aluminum steels fixed to window and the window was made of fiber glass.The use of fiber glass could provide faster installation, reduce the weight and manualhandling. Also, we could see the different colors in the wall, it was mark forconstruction. The room also built the facility for sound-proofing.

Finally, we went to the top level by construction elevator.

There was a fire hydrant near aluminum frame. Also, we saw the gutter that was madeof PVC. On the other hand, there were many concrete columns to support concretespans. Also, the concrete joists supported the load. In addition, when we went to thetop of level, we saw the large aluminum sheet, it was used for thermal insulation.

In general, the building is friendly-environment because the materials are verycommon and they will not produce the pollution. What’s more, because the materialsare easily to get, so the building can be serviced expediently. Designers probably willuse recycle material or new material to reduce total fee and protect the environment.
