Diesel engines operate most efficientlywhen each cylinder carries an equalportion of the total load. The mostreliable method of measuring cylinderload is to measure the firing pressure ofeach cylinder. With the CylinderPressure Indicator, over and underloadedcylinders can be identified and thenecessary corrective action initiated tomaximize engine or cylinder operation.
