Date : 07 th July 2014 Day : Monday Subject : English Language Year 3 Time : 7.50 am- 8.50 a.m. ( 1 hour ) Theme : WORLD OF KNOWLEDGE Unit : 10 Topic : A Ride in the Safari Park Focus : Listening and Speaking Integrated : Reading and Writing Content Standard : 1.1, 1.3 Learning Standards : 1.1.1, 1.1.4, 1.3.1, Teaching Aids : Textbook, AB. E.E. : Thinking Skills, Contextual Learning. L. Objectives : By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to :- i. listen and say the name of the animals. ii. state possible places where the animals can be found iii. write about animals that have something in common. Steps : 1. Teacher shows pictures of zebra, hippopotamus and lion. 2. Teacher encourages the pupils to talk about the stimulus. 3. Pupils discuss with their friends where they can founds those animals mentioned by the teachers.( In a group ) 4. Pupils compare their answer with other groups. 5. Teacher reads the description of animals and pupils will say the name of animals. 6. By looking at their TB, pupils are asked to name the animals according to what they eat. 7. Pupils take turns to present their work. 8. Summing-up. 1. Teacher asks pupils to write the number on the words written on the whiteboard.2. Teacher guides the pupils to write the numbers ( if necessary ).3. Teacher explains on how to do the activity on the AB.4. Pupils do the activities page by page.5. Teacher guides the pupils to do the activity.6. Pupils submit their work.7. Summing up.

i. complete the sentences correctly.ii. write the animals and their young.iii. look at symbols and write the answers correctly.

Steps :

1. Teacher recalls what they have learned in the previous lesson.2. Pupils look at the picture and talk about that.3. Teacher asks the pupils to open up their activity book and explains them on how to do the activity.- complete the sentences- animals and their young- look at the symbols and write the answers.4. Teacher guides weak pupils to answer the questions.5. Pupils do the exercises individually.6. Summing up.
