Well done to Tait Hetzel, Lilly Tiller and Sophie Morton. Jake Rogers is coaching the girls’ team. Corona Virus We are continually being updated as to the status of this issue. I will keep you all informed and updated as I will be directed by the Department. The staff discussed at length at our staff meeting on Tuesday the ramifications of this and are preparing for a worst case scenario (hopefully it will not come to this) Sports Day Sports Day was held on Friday 13 th March in magnificent weather. Jackson Kay officially opened the day as a School Leader. The day started with the 400m events for students from Under 11 through to Over 15. Once the 400m sprints were completed the students gathered in the appropriate age groups and along with their teacher started the first of the “Tabloid” events. After every two tabloid timeslots the different sprints were held. After all of the individual events were completed the spectators and the competitors were able to purchase a BBQ lunch, cooked by the Governing Council members, and fruit salad and ice cream, supplied by Parents and Friends. After lunch all of the team events, including novelty events and relays were held, before the day finished on time. At the end of the day the following individual awards were presented. Junior U7/U9/U11 Runner up: Sophie Morton Winner: Cameron Glover Senior U 13/U15/Open Runner up Lili Tiller Winner: Tait Hetzel Congratulations to all of the winners and all competitors on the day who participated with great sportsmanship and enthusiasm. Final scores for the day were McLachlan 811 who defeated Terre 633. The shield was presented to captains Caleb Hancock and Lili Tiller who responded with a thank you speech. Josh Kammermann closed the day as a School leader. Thank you to all parents, community members, P and F and Governing Council for their assistance on the day. NAPLAN Testing for all Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 students will be conducted in Term 2 this year on 12-14 th May. The testing will be online. Students completing NAPLAN this year will be familiarised with the NAPLAN Online platform at school prior to NAPLAN testing. A parent information brochure, and other information for parents, is available at www.nap.edu.au/naplan/parent-carer-support . Families have the option to withdraw their child/ren from the testing. If you choose to do this, please contact the school for further information. Assembly The next assembly scheduled for Thursday 19 March will now be postponed until further notice. Governing Council Our next Governing Council meeting is on Monday, 30th March (Week 10). We will meet at the IT room. End of Term This term finishes on Thursday, 9th April, with a 2:10p.m. dismissal. Buses will leave at 2.15pm. Term 2 begins on Monday, 27th April 2017. FOX BAIT COLLECTION DAY When: Wednesday pm –25th March Where: Opposite Lock Hotel on Tod Highway, Lock Time: 5.00 pm
