Established in 2007, J&K Civil (JKC) is a Western Aus-

tralian owned and operated contrac"ng company

specialising in providing high quality civil construc"on

services to the WA Infrastructure, Mining and Re-

sources sectors.

Director Jason Dow has taken his small con-

trac"ng business and developed it into a suc-

cessful company. Jason has experience super-

vising and managing a diverse range of civil pro-

jects in the Pilbara for BHP Billiton Iron Ore, For-

tescue Metals Group and Rio Tinto Iron Ore.

istra"on and manages the Companies human

resources, procurement, accounts and payroll.

Steve Watkins Opera"ons Manager

Steve has over 12 years experience in civil con-

struc"on and project management. Prior to

joining J&K Civil Steve worked for designers

Opus Consultants and civil contractors NRW and

Viento Group.

With experience in both construc"on and as

designer/client in the Pilbara Alvin brings enthu-

siasm, technical exper"se and a drive to suc-

Tom Price Tailings Storage

Facility Project May 2017 - January 2018

Removal and disposal of exis"ng pipe and infrastruc-

ture, installa"on of temporary pipework's, to enable

con"nued deposi"on whilst 205,000m3 of bulk and

detailed earthworks for several embankment raises

is completed. Supply and Installa"on of 4km of new

deposi"on HDPE and 108no. Polyurethane lined

steel pipe work with valving. Pressure tes"ng and

commissioning of the new pipework. All completed

Design and Construc"on

Mesa A Evapora"on Ponds

January 2017 - July 2017

Early works consisted of the detailed design, site ge-

otechnical and services inves"ga"on and repor"ng

followed by a joint Client/Contractor design and

safety review. The twin evapora"on ponds construc-

"on included cut to fill earthworks, trench and sur-

face prepara"on, geotex"le and HDPE liner installa-

"on followed by security fencing of the site.

A new concrete drying slab was constructed along

with new pipework and valves for the inflow to the

ponds.

Tom Price Stormwater Re-

newal Project Nov 2017 - May 2018

Supply and installa"on of 1,300m of new RRJRC pipe

and 80no. concrete pits at various loca"ons through-

out the town of Tom Price as part of the Shire of Ash-

burton’s drainage renewals programme. Works in-

cluded public no"fica"on/liaison, service loca"ng

and protec"on, removal and disposal of the exis"ng

redundant infrastructure, installa"on of new storm-

water infrastructure and reinstatement of sealed

roads, concrete kerbing and residen"al verges.

Marandoo Waste Fines

Storage Facility Stage 2 & 3 December 2014 - February 2016

Bulk and detailed earthworks consis"ng of downstream

embankment liGs of a tailings dam, modifica"ons, exten-

sions, dismantling and reinsta"ng of underdrainage

equipment, waste fines and decant pipework.

Approximately 1.5 million cubes of material shiGed in

total.

Rail Capacity Enhancement

Project - Cape Lambert

September 2013 - March 2015

Earthworks for new and exis"ng level crossings and

rail maintenance tracks including the supply installa-

"on of road furniture, sealing works and line mark-

ing. Supply and installa"on of passive level crossing

gates and rail forma"on works.

70 Gate installa"ons; 30 level crossings; 350,000

square metres of 2-coat seal.

Autohaul Earthworks May 2012 - April 2014

Detailed earthworks at 40+ sites alongside RTIO’s ac-

"ve rail network for future autonomous train infra-

structure including signal pads, radio base pads and

level crossings. Works required access to Brockman,

Marandoo, Hope Downs and Tom Price mine sites

and included conduit installa"on, seal prepara"on,

sealing works and line marking ac"vi"es.

Detailed earthworks at Bellbird and Rosella sidings in

prepara"on for autonomous signally installa"on in-

cluding installa"on of train driver change out pads

and rail ballast supply.
