Enclosed please find a “Notice of Public Hearing” document and related materials for aRoad Abandonment Hearing for the Abandonment of of Oliver Street located in the Town ofBelmont, Nye County, Nevada.
This Notice is in accordance with Nevada Revised Statute 278.480.4, (...if any right-of-way or easement required for a public purpose that is owned by a city or a county is proposed tobe vacated, the governing body, or the planning commission, hearing examiner or otherdesignee, if authorized to take final action by the governing body, shall notify each owner ofproperty abutting the proposed abandonment and cause a notice to be published at least once in anewspaper of general circulation in the city or county, setting forth the extent of the proposedabandonment and setting a date for public hearing.
As an abutting property owner you are hereby notified that a Petition to abandon saidroad (see attached copy) was presented to the Nye County Board of Commissioners at itsOctober 7, 2014 meeting, where a Public Hearing was set for November 12, 2014 at 10:45 AM.

Belmont, Nevada
I am here to discuss closing Oliver Street. I have already had Jim Shaner survey the part of OliverStreet that goes through the property belonging to the Cox Family Trust. This street has not been inexistence for fifty or sixty years to my knowledge and has not been maintained by Nye County.
When I talked with Keith Boni he suggested we petition or do what is necessary to close the Streetand have it removed from future maps of Belmont.
I also contacted John Terras and he was going to discuss this matter with his brother, Terry Terras. I
I have not heard back from them.
I have not contacted Jan Berard or the new owners of the Bar property (Di
Dick’s Saloon).
As Oliver Street only exists on maps and is not used by anyone as a through street to access theirproperty, I am hoping with the support of these property owners and the Belmont Town Board we canget this street closed. Anything the Belmont Town Board can do to help us with the closure of the streeton our property or the entire street will be greatly appreciated.

At our June 8, 2013 meeting, the Belmont Town Advisory Board was requested by propertyowners along Oliver Street to recommend to the Board of Nye County Commissioners tovacate/abandon all of Oliver Street in Belmont Nevada. Our board voted 5-0 to recommend thisaction. Attached are letters we received in support of this action.
