PALS Changes•Since BLS is the foundation of the Advanced Life Support course, AHA is allowing you to renew your BLS card under the following conditions:•All testing must be completed by a BLS Instructor•You must pass the skills test for 1-rescuer adult BLS•Take the BLS written exam after PALS written exam•An additional 30 min must be added if the whole class is being tested•BLS PCR must be completed•Ref AHA Training Memo dated 20 Jan 2012

PEARS CoursesImportance:•Help the basic pediatric provider develop the knowledge and skills needed for emergency evaluation and treatment of infant children•Recognition of children is paramount to improving outcomes•Focuses more on improving pediatric assessment and recognition skills, with less emphasis on management
