MISSION STATEMENTThe mission of San Jose City College is to serve our students and the community by offering high quality, relevant, and innovative instruction for basic skills, career pathways, university transfer, and life-long learning. We strive to accomplish this by awarding certificates and associate degrees to eligible students taught in a multicultural environment where student achievement, successful learning and social justice are highly valued, supported, and continually assessed.

CalWORKS (408) 298-3586SJCC CalWORKS provides services to our students who are parents and receiving TANF. The program supports eligible students by providing academic counseling, book vouchers, child care, work-study, mental health counseling, and referrals to outside resources.

EXTENDED OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM (408) 288-3788& SERVICES (EOPS)The EOPS program assists low-income educationally disadvantaged members of our community to achieve their educational goals by providing academic, personal and career counseling, a lending library, book vouchers, success skills workshops, university visits, UC/CSU application fee waivers, and graduating student’s cap and gown.

FINANCIAL AID & SCHOLARSHIP OFFICE (408) 288-3741The Financial Aid Department helps students apply for and obtain funds from variety of state and federal financial aid programs. The Financial Aid Office hosts workshops to help students apply for FAFSA, the Dream Act and connects students with scholarship opportunities.

HEALTH CENTER (408) 288-3724SJCC Student Health Services support the health and wellness of our students. Services provided at our on-campus health center range from general appointments with our doctor, physical examinations, and vision screenings to birth control and family planning services, blood pressure checks, and adult immunizations.

STUDENT ACCESSIBILITY SERVICES (408) 288-3746 PROGRAM (SAS)The SAS program provides support services and instruction allowing students with disabilities to fully access and benefit from the general offerings and services of SJCC. Counselors and a learning specialist can recommend courses, learning strategies, and services that may include, but are not limited to, accommodations, alternate media services, note takers, sign language interpreters, and specialized counseling.

TRANSFER CENTER (408) 288-3763The Transfer Center is a one-stop shop for students interested in the requirements for transferring to a university. The center provides resources that include application workshops, college tours, information on transfer eligibility and the tools to identify the major or degree programs that may be a good fit for students.

VETERANS RESOURCE CENTER (408) 288-3121The VRC provides veteran students with services and resources to assist them in achieving their educational goals. Our center promotes success by assisting students to overcome social, academic, transfer, and/or personal challenges. Services include a technology center, book loan program, priority registration, and academic counseling.
