Commodore’s Comments As I sat at the club talking with friends at
this year’s Midwinter Brat Fry and I now
ponder what to write about, all I can think
about is how much fun I have had at our
club this month so far! The Sailing Banquet
was a huge success, with some surprise mu-
sic provided by one of our most gracious
members! The Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras pot
luck keeps getting bigger and better every
year! Our members continue to outdo them-
selves with the amazing food that they pre-
pare for all to enjoy! The Brat Fry is also
one of those events that we all look forward
to and is also a way for us to showcase our beautiful club to some new
faces. Thank you to all the volunteers who give their time and exper-
tise to make all of these events a great success!
Another event that you should not miss is our monthly Mem-
bership Meeting. This is a special night that is reserved for members
only. It is a night for reporting on all of the hard work that the Com-
mittees have done and for showing support for the decisions that the
Board and Officers continue to make for the leadership of your club.
The Lunch Committee has been putting together some great meals for
us to enjoy following the meeting and the camaraderie is unmatched!
Please join your fellow members who continue to keep this club one
of the very best on the Great Lakes!
To keep the ball rolling, no pun intended, the next event that
is not to be missed will be the Commodores Ball on March 10th! The
Entertainment Committee is pulling out all the stops for this one! This
will not be your traditional suit and tie event but rather a let-your-hair-
down party. But really because of the 80’s theme you will probably
want your “big hair” up! We will be going “back in time” for the
evening and revisiting some of the best that the 80’s had to offer! The
music will definitely be the highlight of the event with many fun
games planned along with surprises that the Committee will share
with us that evening! You do not even need to sit on line with Ticket-
master for hours for tickets; we sent them directly to you and you all
have the best seat in the house! Feel free to invite some of your
friends who may be interested in this party who are non-members.
You need to RSVP with menu choices by March 3, 2018. This is a
great way to show others just how much fun we have during the non-
boating season and another reason why we enjoy being members of
this great Club!
See you at the show!
