1 Creating the job in Gateway.

1.1 Open Gateway and make sure you have the latest version (see “Tools” => “Check for

Updates”).

1.2 Switch Gateway to easy mode.

1.3 Under “Chart Measurement” operation mode double-click “New Job”.

1.4 Select “3rd Party Software” and double-click P2P25Xa_2009.

1.5 Save the job.

2 Measuring the chart with the Spectro LFP and the Spectro Swing

2.1 The markers required for the manual positioning are not present on the P2P25Xa chart

and have to be manually drawn by the user.

The markers indicated with the red X in the picture below are required for the Spectro LFP

whereas the markers indicated with the green X are required for the Spectro Swing.

The required markers can be drawn on the printed chart using a pen.

2.2 Double-click the P225Xa job.

2.3 In case of the Spectro LFP:

Fix the P2P25Xa chart on the sample holder as shown in the picture below. Then insert

the sample holder in the Spectro LFP.

In case of the Spectro Swing:

Leave at least 5cm of paper on the left side when you print the P2P25Xa chart (see picture

below). This is needed for the paper recognition of the Spectro Swing.

Insert the target in the transport tray of the Swing as indicated in the picture below.

Click Next.

2.4 Position the chart manually using the three positioning markers. The chart can be moved

by clicking the scrollbars.

In case of the Spectro LFP:

The positioning markers can be pointed with the aid of the arrow which is mounted on the

optics of the Spectro LFP (see picture below).

In case of the Spectro Swing:

The positioning markers can be pointed with the aid of the red laser pointer (see picture

below).

2.5 Click Next when you have positioned the three markers. The measurement of the chart will

automatically start.

2.6 Click Next after the instrument has finished the measurements.

2.7 Click Next in order to finish the measurement.

The measurement files can be found under “\Documents\Barbieri\Gateway\Chart\

Measurements”.
