Before installing Unity Pro v8.0 you must run the UPWIN8.exe file in the Windows 8 folder on the

Unity Pro v8.0 installation DVD.

If Unity Pro v8.0 has already been installed, you must uninstall Unity Pro v8.0 and then run

UPCleaner v8.0 and follow these instructions:

1. Unzip and install UPCleaner v8.0

(Download UPCleaner_v8.zip)

2. Remove Unity Pro

3. Run the UPCleaner Utility

4. Run the UPWIN8.exe file in the Windows 8 folder on the Unity Pro v8.0 DVD

5. Re-install Unity Pro v8.0.

After Installing in Windows 8.0 or Windows 8.1 you must do changes in program properties to work

in compatibility mode.

Unity Pro XL version 8.0 work with Windows 8/ Windows 8.1 in compatibility mode.

After setup, when try to start this program in normal mode or “Run this program as administrator”,

we can read this “Program error message”:

Follow instructions:

1. Click a right mouse button on Unity Pro XL program icon and choice Properties.

2. Select “Change setting for all users”

3. Select

- Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 7

- Run this program as an administrator

After this changes program works “normally”.

In Windows 8.0 and Windows 8.1 PC:s we can open project sawed as Unity Pro Files (*STU) in

earlier Windows version (Windows 7, Vista, etc.), but when trying to open *STU- file sawed in

Windows 8/8,1 PC the program say that a file is “Invalid”.

To save and open Unity Pro XL project in Windows 8.0 or Windows 8.1 PC, use project exporting

and Application (*XEF) file type:

When exporting project Program show an error message, but you can ignore it.

To open exported project follow this instructions:

Select the ”Open” (by clicking on a folder icon)

Choice a “Unity Pro Application Exchange Files (*XEF)“ file type:

When a file is selected, click on ”Open” and project importing will be started:
