LOCATION

The location of my trailer was very important in matching the conventions which are expected in the genre. The location for my trailer was an abandoned park and woods. I made sure that the park seemed deserted which gives a sense of hopelessness in the audience because the appearance and state of the location will build suspense. Abandoned Parks and woods is a convention of horror because the area has a lot of shadows and hiding spots which builds suspense in the audience because they cannot see everything in the scene.

WEATHER CONDITIONS/LIGHTING

The weather conditions played a big part in fitting the conventions of the genre. All scenes were filmed in cold conditions which helped with things such as fog and smoke which is scene when the antagonists are breathing heavy which puts a sense of being helpless in the audience. While most scenes were recorded on a cloudy day because it soon rained and I thought worked to bring out a sense of fear in the audience because you could here some of the narrative which made the scene disorientated.

TYPOGRAPHY

The typography used in the final product has a black background which brings out the titles in the scene. The text in my trailer have cracks which represent s broken glass which effectively highlights the feeling of danger and disorder. The text in my poster is positioned in the middle in red font which attracts the audience attention towards the film title. I used red because its a colour which brings out a sense for danger and is commonly linked to represent blood and gore. The font seems to replicate blood splatter which is common in horror.

ANTAGONIST

The antagonist character of my trailer is a male character who seems to have a vengeance against the group but it is not revealed in the trailer because I believe this will make my audience curious to find out why the antagonists is attacking the protagonist characters and how the antagonist character ended up to be like that. The antagonist character seems to have a mask on which clearly is common in the horror genre.

MAGAZINE COVER

My magazine cover contains the movie title and the antagonist character from my trailer. The background is red which is considered to be a convention of horror because it is used to symbolist evil, blood and gore . I used this color to highlight the text on the cover and bring out the character on the cover. I have the antagonist on the front cover because I feel that the antagonist is the most iconic and most recognizable when it comes to horror films. The cover also has subtitles which can attract my audience tot the other stories which are advertised on the cover.

POSTER

My Theoretical poster is very graphic because it has an unclear image of what seems to be a dead female covered in blood. I used this to make the genre of the film obvious to my audience from just looking at the poster. You can barely see the character on my poster which builds fear in the audience because they don’t know anything about the character or what happened to the character.Teaser
