Erin is interested in memory and the passage of time. She uses acrylic paint and glazing medium to build up transparent areas of color that are juxtaposed with thicker, impasto paint. Family photographs inspire her work. Through painting, Erin explores distinct moments in time and feels a connection to people and places from the past. 3 6:30 PM | Broadway Commerce Center (44 W Broadway) The American Institute of Architects, Southwestern Oregon Chapter and the American Society of Landscape Architects, Willamette Valley Section of the Oregon Chapter present the 2016 People’s Choice Awards for Architecture. This exhibit showcases architecture, interiors, and landscape architecture projects. Vote for your favorite! Oregon Supported Living Program shares the space, showing “Inclusive Art- Making in the City.” This exhibition features artwork created during the three inclusive art-making events this summer (left). 4 7 PM | Yankee Built (857 Willamette St) Yankee Built hosts the multimedia work of Chris Miller (see cover of guide) in a presentation entitled “A Compendium of Relics.” Chris fuses vintage photographs, block printing, found ephemera, various painting techniques, and his own drawings into multi-layered artifacts that seem to surface from another time and place. His latest project about a time-traveling raconteur can be found at metaharry.com. 5 7:30 PM | MECCA (449 Willamette St) ArtWalk Highlight! With a mission to connect scrap and fine art, MECCA challenged artists to make inspiring, thought-provoking, and creative works of art out of a mystery box of materials. Over 100 artists participated in the “Object Afterlife Art Challenge,” MECCA’s signature annual event now in its 8th year.
