What is Charity Builder? Charity Builder is a web-site that will help small third sector organisations to

manage their Human Resources and Health & Safety processes.

Charity Builder doesn’t just signpost advice, or provide templates to cut and paste, it works with you to produce tailored documents such as job descriptions, employment contracts and staff handbooks which you can then print, use and file

The content is written and kept up to date by expert lawyers

Plus, Charity Builder will also offer headline advice on subjects such as finances, governance and compliance

Finally, it is available free of charge to third sector organisations

What benefits will it bring?

You have told us that it is difficult to comply with HR and Health & Safety legislation. Both areas are important, but they can be complex and time consuming

Up until now many charities have faced a stark choice – hire in expensive external expertise or ‘wing it’ and be non-compliant which is a risk

CBUK gives you a new way of being compliant quickly, easily and free of charge

Being compliant is an important qualifier when you are competing for funding with large organisations who often employ HR and Health & Safety experts.

Who owns and runs Charity Builder UK?

Charity Builder is owned and managed by Tennyson Insurance. We will be working with:

Beprofessional (co-owned by Deloittes, the leading accountancy practice and Berwin, Leighton, Paisner, international legal firm). They will supply the interactive HR and Health & Safety content.

NAVCA who will consult on the overall content and ‘look and feel’ of the site

CTN and other sector partners who may also contribute content.

What’s in it for Tennyson?

Two things: advertising and making a contribution to the sector. Firstly, as a relatively new company we want to get our name known in the sector and therefore CB will carry our brand on its home page and include a short guide on insurance written by us.

Secondly, when we launched Tennyson Insurance we decided that we would try to be more than ‘just another insurance company’. We hope that we have shown this through our Health Check programme and now want to show it again through the launch of CB.

Registration process

Why register?

Because commercial users pay a subscription for this service. We have negotiated

free access for legitimate Third Sector organisations. This process enables

us to demonstrate that Charity Builder UK users are legitimate.

How:

1. Submit registration

2. Validation by Tennyson & CVS

3. BePro issue a Log On ID and Password by email directly to you

4. Approx 48hrs after registering, you can start using the service
