Administrative structure responsible for the payment of EU assistance funds in the fields of agriculture, rural areas and fisheries

Main units: Headquarters; Regional paying units; Regional implementing units; Regional control units.

STRATEGY/TIME FRAME FOR SETTING UP OF THE PAYING AGENCY

A detailed Master Plan for the setting up of the Paying Agency was drafted with concrete deadlines, financial resources and responsible people;

Completion of the Paying Agency capacity and its accreditation – by end of 2006.

PHARE assistance for the preparation of the

Administrative capacity and the Program documents 2007-2013• Twinning project with the Ministry of agriculture,

environment and water management of Austria and the Ministry of agriculture and forestry of Italy – institutional development assistance and setting up the management system for the Rural Development Program, as well as expert assistance for the preparation of program documents;

- start 13th of September 2005; - duration – 24 months.

• Technical Assistance projects – assistance for the conduct of sector surveys and ex-ante evaluation of the Rural Development Program.
