Short History of The JournalShort History of The Journal

1994 The Association for Information Systems (AIS) founded

1996 Paul Gray and Phillip Ein-Dor proposed the establishment of two AIS journals – CAIS and JAIS

1997 AIS Council approves establishment of the journals.

Paul Gray and Phillip Ein-Dor appointed editors of CAIS and JAIS respectively.

The mission of The Journal of AIS is to promote the production and widespread dissemination of new knowledge concerning the field of Information Systems in all its variety.

To this end, the Journal seeks to publish rigorously researched, methodologically sound articles on all aspects of Information Systems. Innovative research such as the application of new methodologies, multidisciplinary approaches, and integration of existing knowledge are especially welcome.

The Journal is inclusive in scope and covers all aspects of Information Systems and Information Technology.
