The RVRCOB envisions having graduates who are
technically competent, humanistic, socially-
responsible and sustainability- oriented Lasallian
professionals. The Principles for Responsible
Management Education is inherent in our vision.
Thus, it is with enthusiasm that we embraced PRME.
Guided by the PRME we present our initiatives and
additions to our programs.
We will endeavor to regularly share our progress to
our stakeholders and welcome the opportunity to
collaborate for best practices.

About the Ramon V. del Rosario
College of Business
The College of Business and Economics (CBE) evolved from the College of Commerce that was established in 1960. Beginning AY 2010-2011, the Economics Department was spun-off from the CBE and became the School of Economics (SOE), a move meant to strengthen program delivery of all departments under the College of Business (COB) and the SOE.
In July 25, 2011, the University launched the Ramon V. del Rosario College of
Business (RVR-COB). There are six departments under the RVR-COB. These are the Accountancy, Commercial Law, Decision Sciences and Innovation, Financial Management, Management and Organization, and Marketing Management.
July 2013, 2nd Anniversary Celebration July 2013, 2nd Anniversary Celebration
RAMON V. DEL ROSARIO, SR. (1918-2008) was considered as one of the founding fathers of Philippine industry. After an illustrious career in industry, he was appointed Philippine Ambassador. An alumnus of the De La Salle University, Ambassador del Rosario was honored by his alma mater in 2006, when it renamed its graduate business school after him, citing his "catalytic role in Philippine industry."

PRINCIPLE 1: PURPOSE
What We Committed to Do
Advocate for the adoption of PRME by all departments in the College of Business and assist the other departments in incorporating the principles in their operations.
Recruit two other Lasallian business schools to be PRME signatories
What We Accomplished
By the end of AY 2012-2013, the Council of Chairs approved the commitment of the entire RVR COB to the PRME principles. Previously, it was only the Management and Organization Department as well as the Accountancy Department that committed to the PRME.
By the end of AY 2013-2014, the RVR COB was able to recruit one Jesuit school (Ateneo Graduate School of Business) and three Lasallian business schools (De La Salle Lipa, DLSU-Dasmariñas, University of St. La Salle).
More students wrote their management research papers in the fields of Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Governance, Sustainability, and Catholic Social Teaching
Undergraduate students participated in national and international competitions that displayed not only their technical abilities but their
sensitiveness to the social issues that plague the country

Recruit at least two more Lasallian Business Schools and two other Philippine business schools to become PRME signatories
Increase student participation in student-led activities directed towards inclusive growth
11 | P a g e BRIDGING FAITH AND LEADERSHIP
PRINCIPLE 2: VALUES
What We Committed to Do
Conduct annual self-audit of department practices alignment with PRME principles
Incorporate Lasallian Guiding Principles and BBC Code of Ethics for Business in all department syllabi and develop appropriate methodology relative to this
Train the Business Management Society – student organization on advocating social responsibility and sustainability
Refine delivery of Corporate Governance for the Common Good seminars for board directors
What We Accomplished
The Lasallian Guiding Principles are reflected in the Expected La Sallian Graduate Attributes in the syllabi of courses offered at the RVR COB as well as in the way the subjects are taught. The BBC Code of Ethics is a required reading for all subjects offered by the Management and Organization Department (MOD).
Realizing the impact of the first management course – Management in Organization, the MOD requires that all its faculty introduce the concept of multi-stream management using as basis Dyck and Neubert’s - Management: Current Practices and Future Directions, Philippine
edition

Dr. Bruno Dyck visited
DLSU in July 2012.
Business students were
delighted to learn directly
from one of the co-authors of
their required reading
material. Faculty members
were also enriched with the
conversations in academic and informal settings.
College student leaders (CGB) as well as officers of professional organizations in business (PROBE) engaged in activities that inspired their constituents to become more involved in entrepreneurship, innovation, sustainability taking into account their responsibilities toward the poor. The Business Management Society is one of the student organizations within PROBE.
Applied Corporate Management (ACM) students are requested to submit their signed Intern’s Code of Professional Conduct before participating in any internship. Students take three-sandwich internships for a period of 12-weeks, rendering 480 hours of work per internship. The BS ACM is the only business program at DLSU that has been assessed for quality by the ASEAN University Network.
The Center for Professional Development in Business, the training arm of the College, applied for accreditation with the Securities and Exchange Commission to offer courses in Corporate Governance. The approach to be
used by the College is that for the Common Good.

Students to be more proactive in the fight against corruption and in finding
solutions for inclusive economic and social growth
17 | P a g e BRIDGING FAITH AND LEADERSHIP
PRINCIPLE 3: METHOD
What We Committed to Do
Develop a culturally- and values-based management framework supportive of social responsibility and sustainability to be taught to students and
professional development clients
What We Accomplished
At the department level, the Management and Organization department regularly assesses its commitment to PRME. Faculty applicants are screened on the basis of their value system on top of technical abilities. New faculty are oriented to the department’s vision-mission and are mentored on how to teach management courses using a multi-streamed approach. This ensures that all business students, whether in the graduate or undergraduate level are educated using a consistent framework.
The MOD is also taking the lead in introducing Catholic Social Teaching in its curriculum.
The MOD offered an undergraduate course, Issues, that allowed students to discuss and reflect on their role in society.
In addition, the MOD offers a CEO series course for graduate students that focus on leading sustainable organizations.
