Greetings Everyone,

At this time of the year there are always some excited administrators who are anticipating retirement in just a few weeks. We are expecting there to be approximately twelve people who will be joining the ranks of R.A.P. members, plus four who retired earlier in the year. To each we offer a warm welcome and we look forward to seeing them at the many events to be offered this year.

Contained in this newsletter is an article from Bruce Campbell, which summarizes a meeting Brendan Barnett and I had with himself and Roberto Eberhardt, Chief Information Officer for Dufferin-Peel. The meeting was to discuss improving communication for our members, particularly with regard to access to the Public Folders, which some retired personnel in other boards are able to do. There are a number of stumbling blocks, which it would be necessary to overcome, not least of which is the Freedom of Information (F.O.I.) legislation restrictions. However, we were well received and I believe there is a positive attempt on the part of Roberto and Bruce to do the best they can to resolve the issue.

The month of June is when we celebrate Fathers’ Day and perhaps more importantly for many of us, at this stage of our lives, grandfathers are also honored. Personally, I will be keeping up a four-year tradition of running a 5K with my son, cheered on by my grand children. So to all fathers and grandfathers, have a happy day on Sunday, June 17th.

Have a wonderful summer and I look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming events.

ON THE LIGHTER SIDE

Daily Exercise Routine For Seniors...And those who will join us soon....

Then pour yourself a glass of wine.Beverly is 90 years old. She's played golf every day since her retirement 25 years ago.

One day she arrives home looking sad.

"That's it,"she tells her husband. "I'm giving up golf. My eyesighthas become so bad that once I hit the ball I can't see where it went."

Her husband makes her a cup of tea, and says, "Why don'tyou take me with you and give it one more try."

"That's no good" sighs Beverly, "your a hundred and three. You can't help."

"I may be a hundred and three", says Gus, "but my eyesight is perfect."

So the next day Beverly heads off to the golf course with her husband, Gus. She tees up, takes a mighty swing and squints down the fairway.

She turns to the husband and says, "Did you see the ball?"

"Of course I did!" replied Gus. "I have perfect eyesight".

"Where did it go?" says Beverly.

"I don't remember."
