PRODUCT INFORMATION

RAVENOL UDT Ultra Duty Truck SAE 10W-30 und RAVENOL SDT Super Duty Truck SAE 10W-40 are both synthetic fuel-saving “low SAPS” truck engine oils formulated using the latest additive technology with very particular base oils. They have been specially developed for diesel engines subjected to the toughest conditions in all seasons. They are extremely well suited to use in EURO 2, EURO 3, EURO 4, EURO 5 and EURO 6 engines in combination with diesel fuel with up to 500 ppm sulphur content.RAVENOL UDT Ultra Duty Truck SAE 10W-30 and RAVENOL SDT Super Duty Truck SAE 10W-40 can be used in modern trucks and “Tier 4” offroad vehicles and were designed as SHPD engine oils (super high performance diesel) for use in engines with and without a particle filter and catalytic converter and with specific requirements for Low SAPS technology. They are characterized by low sulphur, phosphorus and ash content.RAVENOL UDT Ultra Duty Truck SAE 10W-30 and RAVENOL SDT Super Duty Truck SAE 10W-40 have particularly high oxidation and shear stability as well as improved air-release properties, allowing them to fulfil and exceed the latest requirements in accordance with API CK-4.

The two truck engine oils RAVENOL UDT Ultra Duty Truck SAE 10W-30 and RAVENOL SDT Super Duty Truck SAE 10W-40 were licenced as the first European engine oils by the API with the specifications API CK-4 and API CJ-4.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONCERNING THE SPECIFICATION API CK-4

The new API CK-4 specification was introduced by the American Petroleum Institute (API) on 01. December 2016. It is suitable for all current Heavy Duty models and off-highway vehicles including construction and agricultural equipment for better protection of the engines. API CK-4 engine oils are backwards compatible and therefore a direct replacement for previous CJ-4 oils. API CK-4 lubricants exceed the older performance criteria of specifications like CJ-4 (introduced in 2006), CI-4 (incl. CI-4 PLUS) and CH-4.

These API CK-4 oils are formulated for use in all applications with diesel fuels ranging in sulphur content up to 500 ppm. They are designed to provide enhanced protection against oil oxidation, viscosity loss due to shear, and oil aeration as well as protection against catalyst poisoning, particulate filter blocking, engine wear, piston deposits, degradation of low- and high-temperature properties, and soot-related viscosity increase.

When introducing the new CK-4 specification a rigorous testing process were undertaken to find out the better performance and protection. To do this the following changes were made:
