2. Pick a weight that you think you can perform 6 - 10 repetitions (10 is max # of reps).
3. Use http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/OneRepMax.html to calculate your 1 RM.

1. Materials: Heart rate monitors and timers.
2. Perform the Rockport Walking Test: After a warm up, subject walks a mile as briskly as possible. At completion of the mile, record time and heart rate.
