Dear colleagues of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Welcome to the 1st Scandinavian TCM Congress in Denmark.

We look forward to the pleasure of gathering TCM practitioners from all over the world. During four fantastic congress days Chinese Medicine will expand and show us the beauty of the tradition whether the approach is practical, theoretical or philosophical.

The theme of the congress this year is: Sexuality and Health: Gynecology, Andrology and the TCM Philosophy. To enhance our knowledge of TCM a line of international TCM experts will teach their favorite topic within the framework of Sexuality and Health.

During the congress we offer you the pleasure of participating in daily Qi Gong exercises in the garden. A surprise is in store for you on Friday evening, and on Saturday a Danish style Congress Party gives you an opportunity to socialize with your fellow participants from many other countries.

We see this first congress in Denmark as the beginning of a new era where worldwide TCM practitioners may meet in the north and establish long-term relationships and cooperation. With this step we wish to make TCM networking without borders possible, and to show the values of supporting each other in the field of Chinese Medicine.

As originator of the project, it will be a dream come true for me as well as a genuine pleasure to watch everyone enjoying themself during this congress in the name of Chinese Medicine.

EXHIBITION

During the 1st Scandinavian TCM Congress an exhibition related to Chi-nese Medicine will be arranged. This offers the opportunity to establish a direct contact between TCM professionals and various suppliers of herbs, needles, equipment for your clinic or TCM books.

The exhibition will be open during all the four congress days, and the congress participants have a unique chance to find out what is new on the market and what they need to bring home for their clinics.

The public are invited to visit the exhibition, and we expect much interest especially in connection with the public TCM Forum on Saturday 8th September 2007.

The theme of the conference this year is Sexuality and Health: Gyne-cology, Andrology and the TCM Philosophy, and participants will be interested in all the various areas covering these aspects. Whether it be from a practical, theoretical or philosophical point of view. Participants will be looking for newfound knowledge to apply in their practices, and this exhibition is one way of gathering new information and examining actual products and litterature. Thereby, the exhibition provides an opportunity to establish the kind of close connections which are vital for our field of work.

LOCATION OF THE CONGRESS AND THE SURROUNDINGS

Rønne’s Hotel in Slettestrand will be the centre of the congress. This is where all the main activities will take place i.e. the main lectures and workshops, the exhibition and the Danish Congress Party. Every morning you may choose to participate in Qi Gong in the garden, and if you are an early starter, you might be tempted by a refreshing swim in the sea only 500 meters from the hotel.

For four days Jammerbugten will be the northern centre of TCM. Why not choose to let the congress be a part of a summer holiday in Denmark for you and your family.

TRANSPORT

There are different ways of reaching the congress center at Rønne’s Hotel, Slettestrand. If you come from Denmark, you will probably prefer to travel by car, bus or train. From Norway and Sweden ferry lines are available, and if you choose to arrive by airplane, there are direct flights from Copenhagen, Oslo and London to Aalborg airport, which is the closest airport to Slettestrand. From other countries than the above men-tioned you may have to go via Copenhagen to catch a domestic flight to Aalborg.

At Aalborg airport a congress information desk is at your disposal. Here you can get instructions on how to reach Rønne’s Hotel in Slettestrand as well as the other accommodation places.

PUBLIC TCM FORUM

“How can acupuncture help you improve your health?”Saturday 8th September we invite the public to participate in the con-gress. As TCM professionals we know that TCM looks at the core of an illness instead of only the symptoms, and that this medical system has focus on finding the imbalance in the body and rebuilding the energies in order to restore health. The TCM Forum gives us the possibility of pass-ing on this valuable information to the public.

We wish to inspire and inform the public through lectures from both TCM doctors and TCM therapists about this 4000 years old medical tradition. Facts from various patient associations show that the public are indeed interested in alternative methods as a parallel to western medicine. Various patient cases will give insight into the wide range of diseases which can be healed with acupuncture. And further information will be given through the extensive experience of TCM acupuncturists.

The public are welcome to this informative day of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture!
