1. Page A401 details 3, 4, 5 show storefront sections, but no storefront specification exists. Can this be provided? Answer: This frame these sections apply to is to be changed to hollow metal. Delete storefront from project.

2. No specifications called out for the ½” x 5” engineered wood shown on details 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7,

A502 that covers the new portals. Answer: Reference Interior Finishes Legend, Sheet A601, under “Walls.”

3. Has a hazardous materials survey been completed for the project to identify any potential

contaminates? Answer: Yes.

4. Toilet accessory schedule on A-403 states to reference specification 088300 for mirrors. NO

specifications have been included. Specification 10 28 00 – Toilet, Bath and Laundry Accessories does specify a mirror, but only at 24”x36”. Please clarify. Answer: Addition of Specification Section 08 83 00 MIRRORS covers all mirrors other than the above-referenced 24”x36” units. Pdf of specification section attached.

5. Men’s Locker 189 calls for new paver flooring. Will the existing lockers need to be removed and

re-installed to complete this? Answer: New lockers will be AF/CI.

6. A602 – Finish Schedule, Janitor 177 and Office 178 call for X-Conc floor finish. X-Conc not found

as a finish. Answer: X-CONC = Existing Concrete

7. A602 – Finish Schedule, Janitor 177 shows XRB for base, XRB finish type not found.

Answer: XRB = Existing Rubber Base.

8. Per door schedule on A603 and hardware schedule, Vault door is to be vault manufacture for room 167. Will the vault and vault door be provided by others? No specifications or details exist for a vault. Please clarify. Answer: There is no vault in this project, only a cash room.

9. Can details for all AF/AI fixtures and furniture be provided to evaluate the connections by the

contractor? Answer: This can be provided after award.

10. Hardware schedule in specifications calls for an aluminum storefront door 150a. No door 150a

can be found in the plans or the door schedule. Answer: Door 150a does not exist.

11. Specification 01 00 00 Summary of Work; 1.04 Installation and Main Store Hours of Operation

state a 48 hour notice is required for afterhours work. Will work be performed during normal working hours, 7am to 5pm? Or will certain phases be require to be done while the AAFES store is closed? Answer: All concrete floor polishing will occur at night from COB to 6am.

12. If all work is to be done during normal business hours, will the contractor be allowed to shut

down areas completely while performing work? I.e. no occupied areas with non-construction related personnel. Answer: All work activities will require coordination and approval w/ AAFES PM.

13. Who is providing the carpet? Docs say we are but verbal from AAFES they are providing. Need

to clarify. Answer: GC to provide carpet.

14. What is to be done with the floors in the entry vestibule and corridor along vendor space? Plans

show this area to be remodeled but does not call out any new flooring. Answer: Refer to Finish Schedule and Interior Finishes Legend, Sheets A601 and A602.

15. Who is to provide temporary bathroom facilities during the remodel work of the existing

restrooms? Answer: This is the GC’s responsibility.

16. Where is an acceptable place to set up storage containers?

Answer: This will be discussed at the Pre-Construction meeting.

17. Will we be able to office out of the building during construction? Answer: No. A job-site trailer is required. See 01 52 13.

18. Who will be responsible for moving existing store fixtures, display shelves, etc. that are to

remain? Answer: This work will be executed by AAFES.

19. Will it be possible to work in multiple phases concurrently, or will a phase have to be completed

prior to beginning the next one? Answer: Yes. Phase work will be coordinated w/ AAFES PM and acceptance of the current phase will be required prior to starting the next phase.

20. We are a local paint manufacturer interested in the project Main Storage Upgrade and would

like to be approved as a paint manufacturer on this project. Please accept our substitution request. Any consideration is greatly appreciated. Answer: GC must use specified materials.

21. Can you please confirm whether or not any asbestos or lead based paint abatement will be

necessary? Answer: No abatement work will be necessary.

22. Can more information be provided for the “Vira Wall.” There are no details showing the Vira

Wall or how it is to be fastened. There is no information on the Vira Wall in the specifications. Can you please provided more details, colors, material and perhaps a supplier? Answer: This can be provided after award.

23. RFP states work hours are from 0800 through 1700 and any afterhours work is to be coordinated with the manager. Drawing PH-01 states that work is to be completed huring “non-business hours.” Which one of these statements is correct? Answer: All Concrete Floor Polishing activities will occur at night from COB to 6am. Other construction activities can occur during normal business hours with the AAFES PM’s approval.

24. The RFP states that this work is to be done in phases. Drawing PH-01 shows 5 phases, with

Phase 1 being broken up into 1a through 1l, and Phase 2 broken into 2a through 2d. Will we need to treat each part of Phase 1 and Phase 2 as an independent phase and this project will actually be a total of 19 phases of work or will it only be 5 phases of work? If only 5 phases of work, I assume we will only need to erect temporary walls around each phase and not around each sub-phase. Is this correct? Answer: This project is sub-phased. Temporary dust partitions are required at each sub-phase and require AAFES PM approval for location and acceptance.

25. Fire suppression spec 210500 is included in the RFP. Drawings do not show any work associated

with fire suppression that is to be done. Please advise what work is to be done regarding this spec. Answer: No changes to existing fire sprinklers are included in this project.

26. I see details on solid surface for the bathrooms. Is there any millwork, besides the portal wraps,

required? I.e. break room cabinets? Answer: No.

27. The general manager never got back with me to schedule a site visit. Is there a plan on how he

would like to break up the bulk retail space during renovation? 4 quads? Answer: This project is sub-phased. Temporary dust partitions are required at each sub-phase and require AAFES PM approval for location and acceptance.

28. Please provide clarification on carpet color for CPT-02. The Interior Finish Legend states color

#334 and color name as Basalt. Color #334 is Lava and Basalt is #324. Answer: Color number 324 is correct.

29. No size was given for the LVT in either the drawings or the specs. Please provide.

Answer: Plank size is to be 4-1/2” x 36” in an off-set install.

30. Please identify location for Panel HD2. Answer: Location of Panel HD2 is shown on PARTIAL FLOOR PLAN – POWER AND AUXIALIARY. Pdf attached.

31. Identify location for Panel LK3.

Answer: Location of Panel LK3 is shown on PARTIAL FLOOR PLAN – POWER AND AUXIALIARY. Pdf attached.

32. Is panel LC6 new? If this is new, where is the panel fed from? There is no panel schedule for

this panel as well. Answer: Panel LC6 is an existing panel located as shown on Drawing E102. Old drawings show it feeding with feed-thru lugs with LC4 and LC5 from a 150 KVA transformer adjacent.

33. Who is the manufacturer for the existing fire alarm system?

Answer: The fire alarm equipment we have seen is Notifier, but the contractor needs to confirm if other equipment is mixed.

34. Can the facility please provide the manufacturer / contractor for the existing HVAC controls? Answer: Johnson Controls.
