Your Obligations

• Keep a journal on staff ride & take photos

• Prepare a 1 pg reflection piece about trip

• Brief other participants about 1 site

• Prepare a group lesson plan to present at end of summer institute (use primary sources)

Summer Institute & Annual Workshops

• One week summer program

• Attended by all social studies teachers

• Develop a lesson plan to be tested the next academic year

To Bring on the Staff Ride

• A designated buddy (cell phone with you)

• Water bottle

• Comfortable shoes

• 1 suitcase for every day wear, 1 for curriculum materials/souvenirs

• Digital camera, extra batteries

• Medications (provide us a list of medicines, allergies, emergency numbers)
