According to Bible prophecy, Israel/Jerusalem is the past, present, and future of the world! Bible prophecy details many events in the sun, moon, and stars in the last days. Before we approach this subject, we need to know the difference between astronomy and astrology.
• Astronomy is the __________________ of studying the movements and positions of planets and stars. God Almighty created the stars and He “calls them all by name.” (Psalm 147:4).
• Astrology is the __________________ of stars which is occultic and pagan. People who make choices based on the stars are seeking guidance for their lives from things created rather than from the Creator. This is a violation of the law of Almighty God (Romans 1:20–21; Exodus 20:4).
Joel 2:30–31: “I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.”
Acts 2:19–20: “I will show wonders in heaven above And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. What is a Blood Moon? (i.e. “moon into blood”) It is an astronomical event that occurs during a total lunar eclipse. The moon appears to be “blood red” in color. While the moon is in total shadow (hidden from sun by the earth), some light passes through the atmosphere and bends towards the moon. Only the red light makes it through and reflects on the moon. NASA scientists often refer to it as a Blood Red Moon.
Jesus said, “There will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars…. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” —LUKE 21:25, 27.
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened [solar eclipse], and the moon will not give its light [lunar eclipse]; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken [nuclear warfare?]. Then [after the signs in the heavens] the Son of Man will appear in heaven.” – Matthew 24:29-‐30 HERE’S WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT THE BLOOD MOONS AND PROPHECY:
1.) God works in __________________. Whenever He begins to do something, He continues because He is the God who does not change. God works in numbers and patterns in order to teach spiritual truths. The Bible is a book of very sophisticated and exact numbers. Gen. 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” There are 7 Hebrew words that produce this sentence. There are 28 Hebrew letters in those 7 words. 4 times 7 = 28. The number “4” in Bible numerology represents the earth. The number “7” is the number of completion.
2.) God does use signs in the sun moon and stars to _____________________ with us. The heavens are God’s high-‐definition billboard to announce things that are to come. According to Gen. 1:14, “Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons.” The Hebrew word for “sign” translates also as “signals.” (The birth of Jesus was announced by a star) Whenever God was about to do something big on the earth – He would give a sign in the Heavens. Traditionally in Judaism – the moon is God’s signal to Israel, the sun is God’s signal to the world
3.) Every time a tetrad of four blood moons have appeared (coinciding with the Jewish feasts) something happened that changed the course of __________________. What is a Tetrad – four consecutive blood moons (not just once) but FOUR in a row, that occur during a specific interval of time. These Tetrads linked to Jewish History have only happened three times in more than 500 years – and it’s happening again for the FOURTH time this year and next year.

THE FOUR BLOOD MOONS AND THE TWO FEASTS Four “blood red” total lunar eclipses fall back-‐to-‐back two Jewish Festivals: Feast of Passover and the
Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). It’s happening now but it’s also happened in 1492, 1949, and 1967 – those three dates are the most important dates in all of Israel’s history.
• THE FEAST OF PASSOVER -‐ This begins on the 15th day of the Jewish month of Nissan. It’s a feast God designed to help Israel remember the time when He “passed over” the houses of the Jewish people that placed the blood of the lamb on the doorposts of their home during the plagues in Egypt.
• FEAST OF TABERNACLES (Sukkot)-‐-‐The word Sukkot means “booths” and refers to the temporary dwellings that the Jewish people were commanded to live in during this holiday to commemorate the forty-‐year period when the Israelites were wandering in the desert –living in temporary shelters.
I. THE FOUR BLOOD MOONS OF 1493-‐94 In 1493-‐94, the first Tetrad of Blood Moons occurred on the Jewish holidays of Passover and the
Feast of Tabernacles. 1.) Passover, April 2, 1493; 2.) Feast of Tabernacles, September 25, 1493; 3.) Passover, March 22
1494; 4.) Feast of Tabernacles, September 15, 1494 What was happening to the Jewish people during this time? ________________ Jewish people
were being _____________________ from Spain. (Edict of Expulsion made by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella).
What was also happening at the same time? ____________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________
Christopher Columbus wrote in his diary: “In the same month in which their Majesties [Ferdinand and Isabella] issued the edict that all Jews should be driven out of the kingdom and its territories, in the same month they gave me the order to undertake with sufficient men my expedition of discovery to the Indies.”
II. THE FOUR BLOOD MOONS OF 1949-‐50 This Tetrad, beginning in 1949 occurred on the Jewish holidays of Passover and the Feast of
Tabernacles. 1.) Passover, April 13, 1949; 2.) Feast of Tabernacles, October 7, 1949; 3.) Passover, April 2, 1950;
4.) Feast of Tabernacles, September 26, 1950 What happened to the Jewish people then? In 1948 – Israel was once again declared a
________________. There is no greater miracle in human history than the miracle of re-‐birth of the nation of Israel.
David Ben Gurion (Israel’s first Prime Minister) believed that Israel was “a country built more on her people… the Jews will come from everywhere…from France, from Russia, from America and from Yemen…their faith is their passport.”
That fulfilled a prophecy in Isaiah 66:8, “Who has ever heard of such things? Who has ever seen things like this? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner is Zion in labor than she gives birth to her children.”
III. THE FOUR BLOOD MOONS OF 1967-‐68 1.) Passover, April 24, 1967; 2.) Feast of Tabernacles October 18, 1967; 3.) Passover, April 13, 1968;
4.) Feast of Tabernacles, October 6, 1968 Why is this important? 1967 was the year that the city of ___________________ was reunited
with the Jewish people for the first time in 1900 years. During this time, 7 Arab nations came against Israel. During the Six-‐Day War, a total of 21,000 of Israel’s enemies were killed. Israel lost 779 soldiers. A local newspaper said, “Even a non-‐religious person must admit this war was fought with help from heaven.”
IV. The Four Blood Moons of 2014-‐15 1. Passover April 15, 2014; 2. Feast of Tabernacles, October 8, 2014; 3. Passover, April 4, 2015; 4. Feast of Tabernacles, September 28th, 2015
So what are the common denominators of 1492, 1949, and 1967?
3
They are all centered on significant events related to Israel and the Jewish people – and they occurred on the Feasts of the Lord. We don’t know what the future holds. But in each of the three previous series of Four Blood Moons – they all began with a trail of tears for the Jewish people – but they ended with Triumph. God Almighty is going to defend Israel Himself and Israel will prevail over all adversity and adversaries.
What does this have to do with America? Shemittah is the Sabbatical year which occurs every 7th year. Shemittah is “Shabbat” (The Sabbath) for the land of Israel. God taught the Jewish people that just as they are to rest every seventh day, the land is to rest every 7th year (Leviticus 25:4). Jeremiah foretold that the Jewish people would be exiled for not keeping Shemittah by not allowing the land to rest. (Jer. 17:4). Jewish tradition teaches that exile is the penalty for the three cardinal sins – murder, idolatry, sexual immorality AND for neglecting to keep the laws of Shemittah. The next Shemittah year occurs in 2015. In America, the judgment of violating Shemittah is not linked to the land of Israel but by our national disobedience to the Word of God. Look at what has happened in Shemittah years in recent history:
• What happened in 2001? _____________________________________________________ • What happened in 2008? _____________________________________________________ • What will happen in 2015???
The only difference between the other 3 series of Tetrads / Four Blood Moons is that this coming series occurs in a Shemittah year which begins and ends on the Feast of Trumpets! Matthew 24:33-‐34, “So you also, when you see all these things, know that it [My coming] is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.” When God was speaking to Abraham in Genesis 15, He labeled a generation as 100 years. Jesus was telling them that after the deception, after the wars and rumors of wars, after the famines, and pestilence, and earthquakes in various places…after you are hated by all nations for my namesake…after an abomination of desolation on the temple mount…and after Israel is reborn (May
1948) – THAT generation will see My return in the clouds of heaven. We are that generation! If this subject interest you, buy a copy of John Hagee’s book The Four Blood Moons from our Bookstore today!

So what are the common denominators of 1492, 1949, and 1967?
