Today’s lesson covers several aspects of planning but will concentrate on the daily classroom lesson plan of a developmental nature. Motivate.

• Long range planning.

• Curriculum - professional responsibility.

• Yearly - text layout (flexibility and creativity).

• Grading period planning - for assessment.

• Weekly/monthly for substitutes in your absence.

• Student summary. Invite them to put the lesson into their own words. (Assessment ).

• Use white space and margins to keep the plan readable.

• Use a highlighter to emphasize important points.

• Include all auxiliary materials – warm-up, drill exercises, examples, worksheets, etc.
