Prayer, Hindrance & Majesty2 Thess 3:1-2

“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord mayrun swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, 2and thatwe may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men;for not all have faith.” 2 Thess 3:1-2

Why Does God Wait For My

Prayer?

1. Prayer leads to an upright life :“Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10

2. Prayer Sanctifies the Person:“Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth…. 19And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth” John 17:17 & 19

3. Prayer mixed with true love moves the heart of God:

“O my love, you are as beautiful as Tirzah, Lovely as Jerusalem, Awesome as an army with banners!5 Turn your eyes away from me, For they have overcome me.” Song of Solomon 6:4-5

Christ taught us that fasting and prayers expel the Devil and the evil spirits. As He said: “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

By fasting and praying:1. Elijah was taken up to heaven and Daniel was saved from the

lion’s den.

2. Moses received the commandments inscribed by the Finger of God.

3. The people of Nineveh were spared by God.

4. Pursued by the prophets who foretold the advent of Christ many years before His incarnation.

5. The apostles evangelised all nations.

6. The Martyrs gave their lives up for the name of Christ.

7. The Cross-bearers escaped to the mountains, wilderness and caves to pursue their tremendous love for the King Christ.

What can Hinder His Word???

1. Satan…..2. Man’s Pride

“Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” 1 Corth 10:12

3. Beware of the little foxes:There are little things that break and little

things that can make….Examples of those that make…St Mark, St

Bakhomious, the parable of the mustard seed.Examples of those that can break….a look, a desire, a

word, a party, an idea….take care of the little things, your words, etc

4. Beware of who is in your company…
