• On EC-sites for SMEs: Case TShirtParadise• Based on Ales Furlan’s Thesis (University
of Maribor at Kranj, FOV) – Erasmus exchange at JyU

Building an EC-site
• Storefront– The byuing process and behaviour– Generic, or value added services
• Back-office– Integration with existing legacy systems– Financial systems (payment, insurance)– Audit trail
• Logistics– Delivery, return, recycling
3
Integrointi edellyttää huomattavia IT-
investointeja• Toimiva kauppapaikka USAn laajuiseen
jakeluun vaatii keskimäärin 8MUSD investoinnin (A.T. Kearney 2000)
• Brandin luomisen keskimääräinen kustannus 100MUSD (Charles River Partner, 2001)
• ja sitten koko homma kaatuu yleensä joko– kalliiseen logistiikkaan
• esim. kotiinkuljetukset ruokakaupassa jatkuvat silti - miksi?
– asiakkaitten tietämättömyyteen– umpipöhköön bisnesideaan
