    REPORTS TO: General Manager SALARY: DOE plus benefits

    The American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) is a 47 year old non-profit regional theater and training

    institution that nurtures the art of live theater through dynamic productions, intensive actor training in

    its Conservatory, and an ongoing dialogue with the community. A.C.Ts home, the 1,000 seat Geary

    Theater, built in 1909, is a national historic landmark visited by some 250,000 patrons annually. At the

    heart of A.C.T. is one of the most respected actor training institutions in the nation, offering a Master of

    Fine Arts degree, in addition to programs serving students ages 8 to 100.

    American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) seeks Production Manager to lead all A.C.T. technical departments.

    Operating primarily in the Geary Theater A.C.T. presents an annual mainstage subscription season of seven plays,

    plus a holiday production and various special events. The Geary is a union house, operating under a LORT A

    agreement and has multiple union contracts including IATSE. In addition, the Production Manager will work

    collaboratively with the Conservatory to both support and integrate the training program into the overall production

    framework. A.C.T. is currently building a 300 seat second stage and production manager shall assist with the design

    development, technical specs and FF&E budget. Key responsibilities include hiring and staffing of all Production

    departments including permanent, seasonal, and temporary employees; development and oversight of all Production

    departmental budgets; creation and oversight of season calendar, rehearsal schedule, production/tech schedules and

    design deadlines, advise on capital purchases, building upgrades and maintenance issues; and assist and supportpublicity efforts, development events, readings and workshops, and other special events. The production manager is

    a member of the Senior Staff and will participate in season and long term strategic planning and reporting.

    Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of production management experience at a level comparable to

    LORT A.
