Static Coefficient – the ratio of the force resisting initial motion of the surface being tested to the force being applied normal to that surface.

Static Coefficient (in easier terms)- The amount of energy required to get the sled moving initially

Kinetic Coefficient – the ratio of the force resisting uniform motion of the surface being tested to the force being applied normal to that surface once the motion is in progress.

3. Select the appropriate test or Industry Standard

4. Before or after the test you can CONVERT the load units for the test (gf, kg, lb, or N)

� Secure one piece of material to the test sled and secure a second piece of material to the instrument

� Attach the sled to the Load Cell and align it in the direction of travel
