WHAT I’VE LEARNED I’ve learned that we don’t have to change friends, if we understand that friends change. I’ve learned that something that you do in an instant, can give you a heartache for life. I’ve learned that you should always leave loved ones with loving words, it may be the last time you see them. I’ve learned that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel. I’ve learned that either you control your attitude, or it controls you. I’ve learned that my best friend and I, can do anything or nothing and still have a good time. I’ve learned that sometimes when I am angry, I have the right to be angry, but that doesn’t give me the right to be cruel. I’ve learned that the people you expect to kick you when you are down, will be the ones who helps you get up. I’ve learned that just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them too, doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they have. I’ve learned that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had and what you learned from them, and less to do with how many years you have lived. I’ve learned that it isn’t always enough to be forgiven by others, but sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself. I’ve learned that just because two people argue, doesn’t mean they don’t love each other, and just be-cause they don’t argue, it doesn’t mean they do love each other. I’ve learned that you shouldn’t be so eager to find a secret , it may change your life forever. I’ve learned that sometimes the people you love the most in life, are taken from you too soon. I’ve learned that you can’t make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved, and the rest is up to them. I’ve learned that no matter how much I care, some people just don’t care back. I’ve learned that it takes years to build up trust, and just seconds to destroy it. I’ve learned that it’s not what you have in life, but who you have that counts. I’ve learned that you can keep going, long after you think you can’t. I’ve learned that there are people who love you dearly, but just don’t know how to show it. I’ve learned that even when you feel you have no more to give, a friend cries out and you find the strength to help. I’ve learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced our lives, but we are responsible for who we become. Written by Sissy, submitted by Barbara Fields

Break Up Your Fallow Ground
There were times when Israel was not to sow their fields. God had commanded them say-ing, “but in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sab-bath to the LORD; you shall not sow your field or prune your vineyard” (Lev. 25:4). For six years they were to plow, sow and reap but the seventh year it was to be left unsown. Just as the people of Israel were given a day of rest on the seventh day so also the land was given a seventh year as a year of rest from cultivation, when the land would not be sown nor was it to be pruned. Such land was called fallow land. Fallow land was land that was not sown. It was left unused, idle, and dormant. The people would reap that which grew on its own without sowing and cultivation. In Hosea 10:12 The prophet said to Is-rael, “Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the LORD, that he may come and rain salvation upon you.” Hosea was not speaking of Israel’s need to sow her physical fields but of her need to sow her spiritual fields. Spiritually, Israel has not been serving God, and she needs to begin serving Him now. They needed to sow for them-selves righteousness and reap the fruit of stead-fast love. And they needed to do such now for Hosea adds, “for it is the time to seek the LORD.” Israel had been guilty of doing the very opposite of what God here commands of her. The following verse says, “Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.” Israel had sown wickedness and not righteousness and as a result she reaped iniquity instead of salvation. If men will sow for themselves righteousness and continue in their steadfast love of God they will reap God’s bless-ings. Many today need to break up their fallow ground and start back to serving and worshiping God in righteousness that might reap the bless-ings of God here and hereafter. The time to be-gin this is now. This is the time to seek God, “while He may be found” (Isaiah 55:6)
