The Duke Anesthesiology Racing Team was comprised of 49 faculty, staff, and alumni runners. Dr. Luke James served as Team Captain. Together, we raised $13, 458, which made up 15.6% of the total money raised during this year’s ASA for Hope for the Warriors, a non-profit organization that raises funds for U.S. Service members and their families who have been adversely affected by injuries or death in the line of duty. The 5K began and ended at the Chicago Yacht Club. With a time of 19:14 Dr. Jim Benonis was the first male team member to cross the finish line, and placed thirteenth overall. Genevieve DeMaria was the first female team member to finish, and was the second fastest female overall with a time of 20:33. Alumnus Dr. David Hardman was awarded a T-shirt generously provided by former Duke resident and OIF veteran, Dr. Peter Baek, for donating $1,000 - the highest dollar amount given by any team member to benefit this worthy cause. Great job team! Go Duke!!! 2012 Holiday Schedule Released Duke University provides 13 paid holidays each calendar year. The schedule for 2012 has now been posted on the Human Resources website. Duke Anesthesiology Shines at the 2011 ASA Run for the WarriorsCongratulations to the Duke Blue Wave for winning first place at this year’s ASA Run for the Warriors! The Duke Anesthesiology Racing Team was comprised of 49 faculty, staff, and alumni runners. Dr. Luke James served as Team Captain.
