With over 90 airstrips around the island, MAF is a

key player in delivering the gospel and physical aid to

remote villages there! MAF specializes in transporta-

tion and in addition to providing aviation services, a

workshop is run to maintain all the equipment and

vehicles. Roads in a developing country don’t even

compare to road conditions we are accustomed to in

North America. We are excited to be a part of this

aspect of ministry as well. Rob is very anxious to be-

gin working in the maintenance shop and the hangar

soon!

Right now in Madagascar, MAF is serving a wide

range of churches, missions organizations, and NGOs

enabling them to increase their effectiveness and

efficiency.

MAF’s ministry in Madagascar is growing, another

aircraft is due to arrive in March. This means more

flights, more maintenance, and most importantly—

more services and ministry available to isolated peo-

ple all over the island!

Because of its location, the island is vulnerable to

tropical cyclones that bring torrential rains and

MAF exists to share the love of Jesus Christ through

aviation and technology so that isolated people

may be physically and spiritually transformed.

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvellous deeds among all people. Psalms 96:3

MAF in Madagascar

Lord willing, by the time most of you are reading this

newsletter we will probably only be a couple of weeks away

from boarding a plane to Madagascar. God continues to

teach us. It's kind of ironic when I think about it that we

will be ending one “chapter” here in Canada and beginning

a new “chapter” in Madagascar on the first day of a new

year! We are  so thankful to all of you who are praying for

us and keeping us in your thoughts and minds, as well as

those who are supporting the ministry of MAF — all helping

to make it possible for us to obey God's calling on our lives

and serve the people of Madagascar in Jesus' name! Asyou all get together with family and friends to celebrate the

end and beginning of another year please remember us and

the transition our family will be facing.

Continued willingness to learn

We are coming to the end of our time here in Québec C

and although it has not been the easiest of tasks, we ha

been very thankful for this time. I (Rob) have learned much more than just language. God has taught me lot of p

tience during our time here which, I am sure, will come handy when we reach Africa. I never thought learniFrench would be easy and I was right. However, we ha

learned a lot in our short time here. I am, however, sad

say that my spelling has taken a rather drastic drop, (if thwas at all possible), since now I have two different ways

spelling similar words depending on which language

choose. I'm sure after a few years with more practice w

will be much more fluent at French though. I am really ecited to arrive in Madagascar and be able to use what w

have already learned and grow in our knowledge more

know that the amount we have been able to learn here Québec City has been a gift from God! We praise and thaHim for this blessing and know that it is only because H

opened our minds and helped us learn that we are where w

are today! Please continue to pray for us as we move from here — it is not finished but has only just begun!
