10 Day Greece Itinerary!

DAY ONE - NEW YORKDepart New York.

DAY TWO - ATHENSArrive Athens Elefterios Venizelos airport at 0910 hours.

You will be met by Travel Directions representative who will assist and transfer you to your hotel. Please note Athens Elefterios Venizelos airport is situated 47kms from center. Since rooms will only be ready after 1300 hours an Athens sightseeing tour will take place with English speaking guide visiting Acropolis and passing by through all major places of interest such as the �rst Olympic Games stadium, the ex Royal Palace with change of guards, the Academy, the Library, the University plus Philopappou Hill where St Paul preached. Duration of tour maximum three half hours. Lunch souvlaki in pita bread with refreshment or pint of beer. Check in hotel and relax for few hours.

Pick up at 1530 hours and visit Monastery of Agios Efraim in Nea Makri not even 40 minutes drive away. Monastery only opens its doors at 1600 hours for afternoon prayers and visit is essential.

DAY THREE - AEGINA, POROS AND YDRABreakfast and transfer at 0740 hours to Trocadero harbor in Paleo Faliro for full day cruise to nearby Islands of Saronic Gulf- Aegina, Poros and Ydra- which includes bu�et lunch and traditional dances.

Ship docks in Aegina for one half hour and in private coach you will visit Monastery and Holy church of Agios Nektarios and will still have time for tasting pistachio nuts or islands popular honey.

Poros is visited only for 40 minutes giving you the opportunity to shop from souvenir shops or try grilled octopus in one of many tavernas in yacht harbor. Ydra is visited for one hour o�ering opportunity for a swim in deep sea crystal clear waters or School of �ne Arts. Special arrangement will be done to visit Monastery of Agia Ephraxia which is run only by 6 nuns and it is situated 500 meters above sea level or visit Agios Nikolaos church which used to be a monastery and it is situated in main town. In Ydra no cars or scooters are allowed and only method of transport is donkey riding for long distances. Cruise returns to Athens at approximate 2000 hours. OPTIONAL dinner

DAY FOUR - CORINTH CANAL, ARGOLIDA, ARCADIABreakfast. Pick up at 0900 hours and motoring through west coast of Saronic Gulf crossing. Then Aspropyrgos and Elefsina oil re�neries, Kinetta, Megara to reach Corinth canal after one half hour. Stop for refreshing up and proceed to ancient town where St Paul lived and preached for two years. Optional visit to ancient theatre of Epidaurus before reaching picturesque Naphlion-the �rst capital of Greece till 1821- Crossing from state of green Argolida to state of Arcadia to visit unique church of Agia Theodora built under a large tree and it is considered a living miracle. Return to Athens early evening.

DAY FIVE - KALAMBAKA (METEORA)Early breakfast will be arranged. Depart Athens latest 0830 hours and driving on National Highway to reach Kalambaka after 5 hours with two short co�ee stops. Check in hotel and visit two monasteries in Meteora. Traditional dinner in village in same area. Overnight.

DAY EIGHT - TINOSEarly departure and depart for Athens allowing two stops. Duration of drive nearly �ve hours. On arrival drop at Ra�na harbor and sail in luxury car ferry for Tinos island travelling economy class. Duration of voyage nearly three half hours via Andros island. Arrive Tinos at approximate 2200 hours. Transfer to hotel.

DAY TEN - SOUNION, ATHENSSail from Tinos at 0825 hours and arrive Ra�na harbor at 1200 hours. Meet and visit Cape Sounion and Monastery of Panagia Pandanassa. Farewell lunch in Greek village with lamb on split and various other delicacies. Transfer to Athens Elefterios Venizelos.

DAY NINE - PYROSMorning visit at miraculous church of Evangelismou –Church of Annunciation. Just before lunch tour in private coach this lovely island visiting Pyros, stopping lunch on sea side and in afternoon Monastery of St Pelagia, the nun who dreamed of the icon. DAY SIX - NORTH GREECE, VERIAAfter breakfast travel north part of Greece and visit Monastery and Holy Miraculous Icon of Panagia Soumela - Greeks from Pondos protector. Proceed to Veria where St Paul preached in 54 after Christ. Short drive/visit through Jewish neighborhood before continuing to Thessaloniki. If time permits visit to ancient site of Vergina will be considered. Overnight

DAY SEVEN - THESSALONIKIAfter breakfast, a full day tour of Thessaloniki, visiting St Dimitrios Cathedral, St Sophia, Upper town The White Tower, and then lunch in old town. Afternoon visit of the Monastery of Sourotis of St Paisios.Overnight Thessaloniki.
