Cottage Green will be hosting its second annualdecorating contest for the Halloween holiday! The winnerwill receive a free 2-night stay in our largest Guest Room,aptly named “Haven” (a $90 value). Judging will takeplace on October 30th at 7pm. The winner will be notifiedwithin 3 days after judging.

Some restrictions will apply:

● Decorations may be put up no earlier than October15th, and must be taken down by November 7th.

● Decorations should be appropriate to the holiday, andnot be offensive in nature.

● All decorations should be on the homeownersproperty, and not block sidewalks or driveways.

● If your lawn contains decorations as well, please beaware of the landscapers need to mow and edge yourlawn.

• 2 cups Flour • 2 cups Sugar• 1/4 tsp Salt • 4 tbs Cocoa• 2 sticks Butter • 1 cup Boiling Water• 1/2 cup Buttermilk • 2 Eggs, whisked together• 1 tsp Baking Soda • 1 tsp Vanilla• 1 and 3/4 stick Butter • 4 tbs Cocoa• 6 tbs Milk • 1 tsp Vanilla• 1 pound Powdered Sugar

INSTRUCTIONS1. Lightly spray an 18×13 baking sheet with cooking

spray and set aside. Preheat your oven to 350°.2. In a large mixing bowl combine your flour, sugar

and salt.3. In a large sauce pan over medium-low heat melt

your butter. Add your cocoa powder and whisktogether. Add boiling water and whisk it into themixture.

4. In a separate small bowl combine your buttermilk,eggs, baking soda and vanilla and whisk together.Stir buttermilk mixture into chocolate mixture andwhisk together.

5. Pour into sheet cake pan and bake at 350° degreesfor 20 mins.

CHOCOLATE CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

• 1 package 1(8oz) cream cheese, softened• 1⁄4 cup butter, softened• 2 tsp vanilla extract• 4 cup powdered sugar, divided• 1⁄2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder• 1⁄2 tsp ground cinnamon, optional• 4 tbsp milk

When adding milk a little at a time you will be using morethan 4 tablespoons of milk. The more you use thecreamier it gets, you don’t want it to loose but you wantit fluffy and easy to spread.
