Since the new X men Movie is going to launch we decided to tell our readers f ew awesome things about this

movie which they might not know

1. The addition of Evan Pet ers ( American Horror Story Fame) as Piet ro Maximoff/Quicksilver to thecast sparked wide discussion over the direction o f the character who is also slated to appear in Avengers:

Age of Ultron (2015). Quicksilver had been discussed previously as a potent ial character in bo th X-Men:

The Last Stand (2006) and Avengers Assemble (2012), but legal complexities over the license to thecharacter resulted in his omission f rom both f ilms. However, in May 2013 both Marvel and Fox Studiosannounced a reso lution to the previous legal issues, and that Quicksilver would appear in this f ilm as wellas an Avengers sequel, though under certain parameters: no ref erence to Quicksilver’s membership in the

Avengers can be made in an “X-Men” f ilm, and no allus ion to his relat ions to the X-Men or Magneto (thecharacter ’s f ather) can be made in an “Avengers” f ilm; the rights agreement between Fox and Marvel evengoes so f ar as to st ipulate the character cannot be referred to as a “mutant” in any Marvel f ilm. Additionally,

the day aft er the announcement of Peters’s casting, Marvel and Fox entered into a legal standof f over provisions o f the rights agreement f or the character, including the issue of whether Peters would be

allowed to portray Quicksilver in any other film outside the “X-Me n” franchise, possibly

necessitating a second actor to play Quicksilver in any Marvel film, resulting in two different

versions of the same character appearing in two competing f ilm series. Ultimately, Fox and Marveldecided to cast dif f erent actors in the part f or the “X-Men” and “Avengers” f ilms, with Aaron Taylor-

Johnson taking on the role in the latte r sequel, thus preventing any connection between the twof ranchises and keeping the X-Men conf ined to a separate universe f rom those o f the Marvel cinematicuniverse.

2. Bryan Singer f ilmed the mutant Quicksilver’s scenes in a special f ormat o f 3600 frames per second.This was done to showcase Quicksilver’s speed ability: 3600 fps is 150 times slower than normal film

(which is at 24 fps), so Quicksilver will be seen moving to 150 times as f ast as normal.

3. Including his cameo in X-Men: First Class (2011), this will be Hugh Jackman’s seventh portrayal of Logan/Wolverine, raising his own record f or the most times a comic book character has been played by

the same actor in theatrical films. He will also be the only acto r to appear in the entire X-Men f ilm series.

5. When Matthew Vaughn was going to direct, he was going to make the film a direct sequel to X-Men: FirstClass (2011) and have it set in the 1970s. Early ideas included an opening with the Kennedy assassinationbeing caused by Magneto, and mutant encounters set in the Civil rights movement/the Vietnam War. WhenSinger took over, he integrated these concepts into a viral marketing campaign to set up the action o f thef ilm. In this alternate hist ory, Magento is arrested and imprisoned f or the assassination of Kennedy, butmaintains his innocence. The “Bent Bullet” T heory (a ref erence to the real life “Magic Bullet” Theory

criticized by conspiracy theorists) holds that the Warren Commission determined that Magento manipulatedLee Harvey Oswald’s bullets to kill the President in retribution f or the murder of the mutants Azazel andTempest (played by Jason Flemyng and Álex González in X-Men: First Class (2011) respectively) by the CIA.Conspiracy theorists , based on Magneto ’s testimony, insist however that Magneto had tried to prevent themurder of Kennedy, and that the t rue shooter was not Oswald, but Mystique in disguise who, with the help



of Emma Frost (played by January Jones in “First Class”) f ramed Magneto , and manipulated Jack Ruby intolater murdering Oswald. The theory also posits that Mystique of f ered to double as Kennedy in an attemptto grab power, all of which backf ired horribly, leading to anti-mutant host ilities.

6. According to Bryan Singer, he had a two-hour discussion with James Cameron , directo r of the time-travel films The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), about how to make the time-travel concept f easible and workable within the f ilm. The concepts t he two discussed included alternateuniverses and string theory (a f ield of quantum physics t hat def ine multiple universes).

7. A scene that was cut f rom X-Men: First Class (2011) where Xavier mentally cont rols a man to believeMagneto is a transvest ite, appears in this f ilm.

10. Bryan Singer is a big fan of Peter Dinklage and his show Game of Thrones (2011). Dinklage’s role of Tyrion Lannister inspired Singer to cast Dinklage as Trask.
