    WeaskedAarontobottlehisKeynotemojosothatotherscouldbenefitfromit.Here,10tipsformakinganeffectiveslidedeck,splitintotwoparts:thebig,overarchinggoals,andthelittletipsandtricksthatmakeyourpresentationsing.

Createaconsistentlookandfeel.Inagoodslidedeck,eachslidefeelslikepartofthesamestory.Thatmeansusingthesameorrelatedtypography,colorsandimageryacrossallyourslides.Usingprebuiltmasterslidescanbeagoodwaytodothat,butitcanfeelrestrictiveandleadtometoodecks.Iliketocreateafewslidestoholdsamplegraphicelementsandtype,thencopywhatIneedfromthoseslidesasIgo..

    3. Thinkabouttopictransitions.Itcanbeeasytogotoofarinthedirectionofconsistency,though.Youdontwanteachslidetolookexactlythesame.IliketocreateonestylefortheslidesthatarethemeatofwhatImsaying,andthenanotherstyleforthetransitionsbetweentopics.Forexample,ifmygeneralslideshaveadarkbackgroundwithlighttext,Illtrytransitionslidesthathavealightbackgroundwithdarktext.Thatwaytheyfeellikepartofthesamefamily,butthepresentationhastextureandtheaudiencegetsavisualcuethatweremovingontoanewtopic..
