100 kVA Rental Preview Event at Cummins Power

Generation UK draws wide interest from around Europe

A two-day event held in early December proved successful at introducing Cummins Power Generation’s new 100 kVA Stage IIIa rental generator set to the European market. The event was hosted at Manston, Kent, and also at nearby visitor attraction Quex Park. Organised by Cummins Power Generation’s Power Products Rental team, the event offered an exclusive preview opportunity for more than 50 attendees, who included European customers, distributors and press.

The event was conceived as a way for Cummins to explode out of the blocks with customer orders in the new year for the recently launched C100 D2R generator set, which complements the existing 150-300 kVA range launched at the end of 2012. The C100 D2R is the latest addition to the growing range of Cummins’ rental products

specifically designed to meet the needs of the European local hire market. The introduction of this power node further strengthens Cummins position as a growing leader in the European rental sector.

Presentations formed a key part of the event, with an overview of Cummins Inc., Cummins Power Generation, Power Products and the Global Rental Segment shared by Business Director – Global Rental

Segment Scott Strudwick, and a summary of the C100 D2R’s features, functionalities and benefits given by Product Manager – EMER Rental Products Jessica Keen. A tour of the manufacturing plant, live product demonstration and viewing of the product rounded out the days’ events for attendees.

For customers, the timing of the event meant they were able to preview Cummins beta builds during their budget-setting period, as well as have an opportunity to view the C100 D2R generator set in operation to prove load acceptance and noise. For Cummins, the event created excitement for the expanding Cummins Power Generation rental product line and increased mindshare among customers and distributors.
