Cilly: Thanks, welcome to a very special edition of 1066 Blind Date.

As we’re all aware our dear king, Edward the Confessor, has died

and we’re all really cut up about it.

Cilly: Still this gives us a great opportunity to play a very special edition of the

game.

Our contestants will be playing for more than just a maiden’s hand. They will play for the throne of England

Cilly: As this is such a special game we’re letting you, the studio audience, decide who should win!

We gathered questions from the audience and Ethelred the none too fresh, will ask them for you.

I’m worried about my

land. Would you take my land off me if you were to become King?

If I have to fight for the throne I’ll have to pay my army with your land!

Cilly: What a difficult choice! Any one of our strapping lads would make a fine King of England.

We don’t expect you to choose straight away.
