This Week What’s on at All Nations

On Sunday I heard a preacher say these words about hope: “you don’t lose hope suddenly, losing hope comes gradually.” He likened it to holding onto a rope, holding on tightly with all of your strength. Yet, over time and through circumstance, you find that your grip loosens and you slowly begin to slide down the rope until you‟re barely hanging on, literally at the end of your tether. I‟m so glad our hope is in God and not in the world. Our hope is different to worldly hope. Biblical hope is in Jesus Christ, worldly hope rests in ourselves or other people. Biblical hope is as-sured, a certainty. Worldly hope is

wishful thinking. You may feel like you‟re at the end of your rope, but hang on. Don‟t reach inward to yourself but reach out to Jesus. King David confronted himself and said: “why are you downcast O my soul?...put your hope in God” (Psalm

42:55) Hope in God will hold you up. The Bible says that we who “take hold of the rope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor…firm and secure.” (Hebrews

6:18-19) Worldly anchors pull you back and weigh you down, our anchor is Jesus, who sits in Heaven, holding us

up. In Jesus Christ we have hope on a rope.

We heard on Sunday five tips to help

us keep hope alive; you‟ll find them in

this edition of enews. Put the Word of

God into practice, grab the rope. Put

your hope in Jesus and you will find

that the anchor beyond the veil is more

than strong enough to hold you up.

„5‟ WAYS TO KEEP HOPE ALIVE

FROM SUNDAY 16TH JANUARY

1) Know that God is in control of every issue and circumstance God is aware and God is there

2) Fellowship with people who have the same hope as yourself

Get around people of faith, people of hope (Acts 27:21-25) 3) No matter where you find yourself, when you call upon the Lord

He will answer. God answers according to his own pleasures, not just our

hearts desires. He grants us our hearts desires when they are in line with His will.

4) His Word and His Word alone, is the basis for your hope

If your word is from God, it is certain. His word will illuminate your path (Psalm 119:105)

5) In everything, to keep your hope alive, learn to give God thanks.

Give God thanks in the storm, not just after it (Acts 27:35) “Things that hurt you will instruct you” - Benjamin Franklin

The walk will last about 6 miles and starts at Cardiff Gate. We can stop at a local pub on the return or bring a packed lunch if you prefer. The walk will start at 10.30am, meeting at McDonalds, Cardiff Gate. Please take note, some car parks have a limited time, contact Gabrielle for further details.

The walk will be a mixture paths and countryside footpaths. The terrain is fairly easy going and not too strenuous, ideal for those new to trailblazing.
