God’s purpose for one’s life.• 2. Be convinced that setting goals for life and

formulated out of the vision.• 5. Write personal goals in the areas of ministry,

Case: Different people have different goals. Brian and his mother

• Brian invited his mother over for dinner. During the course of the meal, his mother couldn't help but notice how pretty Brian's flat mate was.

• She had long been suspicious of a relationship between the two, and this had only made her more curious.

• Over the course of the evening, while watching the two interact, she started to wonder if there was more between Brian and his flat mate than met the eye.

• Reading his mom’s thoughts, Brian volunteered, "I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you, Mary and I are just flat mates."

Page 5: 109 E Personal scorecard

Brian and his mother• About a week later, Mary came to Brian

saying "Ever since your mother came to dinner, I've been unable to find the beautiful silver chutney jar.

• You don’t suppose she took it, do you?" "Well, I doubt it, but I'll email her, just to be sure."

• So he sat down and wrote:

Page 6: 109 E Personal scorecard

Brian and his mother• Dear Mother,• I’m not saying that you ''did'' take the

chutney jar from my house, I’m not saying that you ''did not'' take the chutney jar.

• But the fact remains that it has been missing ever since you were here for dinner.

• Love, Brian

Page 7: 109 E Personal scorecard

Brian and his mother• Several days later, Brian received an email

from his Mother which read:• Dear Son,• I’m not saying that you ''do'' sleep with Mary,

and I'm not saying that you ''do not'' sleep with Mary.

• But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the chutney jar by now.

• Love, Mom

GOD’S PROMISES AND CHALLENGES FOR FINISHING WELL

• Lead me in the right path, O Lord… Tell me clearly what to do, and show me which way to turn. Psalm 5:8.

• Though I fall; I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord himself will be my light. Micah: 7: 8.

• Commit your work to the Lord, and then your plans will succeed. Proverbs 16: 3.

• Search me O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you and lead me along the path of everlasting life. Psalm 139: 23-24.

ARE YOU "CALLED" OR "DRIVEN"?)

Because Jesus had a clear sense of His calling, He was able at age 33 -- the night before the cross-- to say to His Father, "I have finished the work You

gave me to do." (Jn. 17:4)

Page 11: 109 E Personal scorecard

This is an amazing shot. This came from a Rig Manager for Global Marine Drilling in St. Johns, Newfoundland. They actually have to divert the path of these icebergs away from the rig by towing them with ships! Anyway, in this particular case the water was calm & the sun was almost directly overhead so that the diver was able to get into the water and click this pic. They estimated the weight at 300,000,000 tons.

A little late• A man’s mother-in-law came to stay

with him and his wife. As the mother-in-law was walking along the corridor of the house, the grandfather clock fell and missed her by a few inches.

• The wife called the husband and told him what happened. He said, “ AS USUAL, THE CLOCK IS A LITTLE LATE.”
